Strengths:
This is probably one of the best Z690 DDR4 motherboards in this price range. The motherboard has a nice design and aesthetic with not too much RGB. It had all the features I was looking for in a motherboard including a solid reliable VRM to handle my I9-12900K, lot's of M.2 slots and fast USB ports to transfer data. There is a lot of cool gadget included in the box like a mini screwdriver and brush. It is an excellent option for those who do not wish to jump to DDR5 yet.
Weaknesses:
The price was a bit of a deterrent especially since the motherboard costs over $400. Thing's I would expect to be included are a time stamp on the top and perhaps 10 Gb ethernet. I wish MSI added another USB-C port on the back I/O. The rear backplate was a bit loose when I received the product.
Additional Comments:
Overall I would highly recommend this motherboard for those who do not wish to make the jump to DDR5 quite yet. It really is one of the best Z690 motherboards in this mid range category and has most of the features you would want.

Strengths:
intel Lan
Good Realtek audio
Pretty Nice RGB if that is your thing.
Lots of I/O
Solid VRM that runs pretty cool, keeps up with the best competition.
BIOS flash button
best option for OC ram compatibility at the moment
Weaknesses:
CMOS clear jumper instead of a button and no built-in power switch.
I am not a fan of the artificial product segmentation. leaving features like this off of a $300 board just to make the flagship DDR5 boards look better is dumb.
Everybody seems to be doing this though.
Additional Comments:
I've literally done tens of hours of research on ddr4 z690 board and this one comes out on top in every way.
Overall Review: If you are looking for a z690 DDR4 board this is one of the best ones. It runs my 4400mhz DDR4 and 12900k with no issues. It looks great, IMO, has good audio and network and a beefy VRM that runs cool.
I couldn't ask for much more. Maybe it would be nice to have a CMOS clear button instead of a jumper, and an onboard power button, but those are things I rarely ever use outside of initial setup anyway.
also currently the best balanced ram you can get for this mobo that is on the compatibility list is "trident z rgb 4400 2x16gb"

Strengths:
PROS:
1. Built-in backplate and onboard wifi
2. Well-constructed heatsink covers provide great aesthetics
3. Built in 'latch' to secure nvme drive, greatly reducing the risk of stripping it compared to fastening with screws
4. Fully loaded with features that will satisfy both gamers and pc enthusiasts alike
Weaknesses:
CONS:
1. I'm not sure if it's just me but the wifi doesn't work straight after installation. Unless you can can connect via LAN to install drivers, I had to download the wifi driver onto a usb then install it so I could connect to the internet.
2. This is more of a tip than a con, but be very careful if you're installing an air coolers on this MOBO as there are capacitors that are very close to the socket. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully on installation so as not to damage it. I used a Noctua NHU12-A chromax.
Additional Comments:
Overall a solid board which definitely puts it on top of the list if you're considering a Z690 DDR4 motherboard.
