Great So Far

Strengths:

-Fantastic screen -Pleasure to work on -Significant user experience upgrade from an Intuos or other pen tablet -Remote is handy and acts as a potential keyboard replacement for hotkeys -Mounted on an Ergotron arm it allows me to work sitting or standing on a whim -Special ordered through Memory Express. Cintiq arrived and has worked perfectly ever since; no dead pixels or anything else. I did end up buying the IPR for this product since I don't want to deal with shipping it myself if anything happens.

Weaknesses:

-Expensive. You get what you pay for with the tablet, but practically speaking you need to buy an arm along with a VESA adapter kit in order to get the most out of it in terms of ergonomics. -Fans take some getting used to, but I don't notice them anymore when they turn on occasionally. They are quieter than music at a modest volume. If you jack up the brightness the fans do become louder, but I work at 60% in a well lit room. -Requires daily cleaning in my experience. You're not supposed to use alcohol or water to clean the screen, so wiping it down takes a bit of time.

Additional Comments:

A premium product that is expensive but worth the money if you use it consistently. No issues with quality control on my first purchase. Beats working on an Intuos by a mile in Photoshop and Zbrush. I opted not to buy the touch version because in my experience it's unnecessary and I don't end up using the feature once the novelty wears off.

Stay Away - Review of Wacoms Quality Control and RMA

Strengths:

RMA process has cross shipping and is paid by Wacom both ways.

Weaknesses:

-Wacom stops using cross shipping after 3-4 unit returns -Wacom prefers to use UPS -No quality control whatsoever -Unresponsive emails unless you call them or use online live chat. -On my 7th unit, Wacom are no longer offering exchanges, despite 6 of 7 of the previous units where defective on arrival.

Additional Comments:

This is an updated review from the previous one I had left . I am now on my 7th defective unit and counting, over 7 months. And I would recommend you stay away from this model (and the touch version) if possible. Unless you are willing to compromise with a defective screen. Wacom may have a zero dead pixel policy, but they also have a policy where dust behind the screen and bad back light bleed is considered "normal" for a product that costs over $2000. Summary of defective units: 1x Dust under the screen 1x Fan failure (The only unit that was not defective on arrival, but only lasted about 1 week before the fan started to fail) 1x Back light bleed bright enough affecting quality of images 4x Dead Pixels

Great Tool, Hampered by quality control

Strengths:

-Bright 4k IPS Display -8k levels of pressure sensitivity -Look and feel of working on it -Included remote

Weaknesses:

-Cooling fans can be annoying and loud. With bad fan curves causing them to turn on/off frequently and abruptly -Poor Quality control -Lack of Stand

Additional Comments:

This is a nice tool if you are in the artistic side of the graphics industry, having upgraded from my 10 year old Cintiq. However poor quality control makes it from being great, as I'm on my 3rd RMA. 1st one had dust behind the screen, 2nd dust and dead pixels, 3rd early fan failure.
