Great product and works well with Intel i9 Socket LGA 1200

Strengths:

I accidentally purchased this unit instead of the one I picked for my custom PC build on Feb 13, 2021. I was about to return it because on the MemEx page there is no mention of socket type LGA1200 compatibility. This closed-loop water cooler works with Intel i9 Socket LGA 1200 as per the manufacturer's website. It came with a decent thermal paste and mounting brackets for both Intel and AMD processors (and yes I can confirm it works with LGA 1200). I mounted this on top of the i9-10900K processor. I read few reviews here that mentioned the fan noise. Maybe CoolerMaster had a bad production issue? Because I cannot even hear much when the PC is booting and the Asus motherboard is spinning all the fans at optimal speeds at boot. I used the Asus AI Suite III to push the fans to the max RPM and then I could hear the fans clearly.

Weaknesses:

The included manual and installation instructions are very poor. There is no mention of which socket types are supported. I had to go to the CoolerMaster website to confirm that this unit works with socket LGA 1200 for Intel i9 10900K. Another major issue I would like to see them address in the future is that they should find a way to install the back mounting bracket to the motherboard with a stand-off screw-like some other manufactures are doing. You really need three hands (not that I have three) or another person to help you mount this because the Intel version of the back bracket is mounted to the board using the same screws that you use to mount the pump head itself. So you have to hold the bracket in the back with the screws while trying to place the motherboard back on a level horizontal surface. What pain and they should use stand-off screws instead!

Additional Comments:

Great product for a good price. The device works as advertised. I can confirm it works with Intel LGA 1200. Idle temp for my setup on Intel i9 Socket LGA 1200 with included thermal paste is around 27-30C. The company should update its user manuals and how the mounting bracket work. The MemEx should also update this page to include LGA 1200 compatibility because otherwise, your customer might return the product or not buy it because they were not provided with the complete socket compatibility list.

Great Cooler

Strengths:

Cools my 10900k down with ease, running ultra settings on GTAV, and also COD CW on ultra keeps temps down below 65*, lighting looks awesome and using the case reset button as the RGB rad fan color change is awesome.

Weaknesses:

Longest part was wiring it up. Installing the pump onto the chip was super easy and quick. Prepare to spend 1-2 hours installing if its your first time.

Additional Comments:

No issues, and works as it should. Only downfall is the instructions for the fan & controller are confusing at times. Ended up watching a youtube video.

Intolerable Fan Noise

Strengths:

Good Cooling Capacity

Weaknesses:

Fan bearings are awful

Additional Comments:

The first three fans that came with it all shook and ran at about a 50db volume (ie about the same as medium traffic, whisper quiet is what you'd expect from a radiator). The replacement fans they sent were quieter but still shook so hard the blades were banging on the housing, making screeching noises. The second set of replacements seemed okay, but are now starting to show the same problems with banging on the housing. As helpful as their customer support is in trying to solve the problems, their only option is to keep sending shoddy products.

Great cooler

Strengths:

Looks great and it can be connected only using the motherboard argb connector

Weaknesses:

Comes with a lot of cables and is not easy to setup if your mobo does not support rgb direcrly

Additional Comments:

Cools my 3900x without any problems. Upgraded from an NH-D15 and temps went down about 10° C.

And now it has leaked...both hoses at the radiator.

Weaknesses:

Looks like the HEAT SHRINK is not enough to keep a seal. I give up. I'm pulling out my custom loop equipment.

Additional Comments:

Don't buy this. In my opinion... it's junk.

Sorry I took so long.

Strengths:

Cooling is...okay.

Weaknesses:

Cooler Master should put in the manual if you angle the hoses upwards gurgling almost completely disappears. Not how I prefer the hoses to be positioned for aesthetics but most definitely functional. Cooler is actually quite full despite my previous claim. Also, the pump NEEDS to run at around 1800rpm. On my Asus board it needs to be brought down to around 80% of full speed.

Additional Comments:

Doing the two things mentioned above makes the cooler usable and cooling capacity is fine. Not sure why cooler master allows the pump to run at a speed that is what I would call inadvisable.

I thought water cooling was supposed to be quiet?

Strengths:

Temps on 9700k are just above ambient room temp at idle. All cores loaded synthetic testing max 62C.

Weaknesses:

They didn't fill this cooler up with enough liquid. I can hear liquid noise coming from the radiator. It's like constant running water. Ran a custom loop for quite some time and the only time my loop ever made this much noise was while filling the system. Noise is above fan noise with system set on normal.

Additional Comments:

Might have to call cooler master and see what they'll do. Average water cooling temps. Below average for the water noise.
