Strengths:
It allows you to hook your non functioning headset to a PC and actually be able to use them as they should be able to out of the box but for whatever reason the morons that think up these things do not include these cable with their head phones. Easy to hook up and it just works. I have not ever had a problem with the cable and I am going into my second year with it. To another reviewer how is it the cables issue that Apple choose to make their ipod jack non conformant to industry standard so giving a product a 1 star rating was a bit much when in fact you should have gave the iPod a 1 star rating on Apples site for not allow a properly made cable that works with everything else except an older iPhone or iPod.
Weaknesses:
Non it just works
Additional Comments:
If you are in need of a cable that will make your new and poorly (jack wise I actually mean) designed head sets work on a PC that does not except 4 pole 3.5 jacks then this is the cable for you.

Strengths:
Converts 3.5 mm (4 pin) to dual 3.5mm male (3 pin) mic and headphone inputs.
Affordable.
Weaknesses:
Seems a little flimsy.
Might not work with iProducts as Apple does not use any industry standards for their plugs.
Additional Comments:
This is a 4 pin to two 3 pin adapter. It will convert a 3.5mm jack that that carries a mic and headphones signal to two independent headphone and mic inputs/outputs. Generally used with headsets that are used with cell phones.
I'm using this to convert my House of Marley 4 pin headphones jack, to two 3 pin male with my PC gaming computer (Win 7). Works great both the Headphones and the Mic part.

Strengths:
Works A-OK with my Skullcandy iphone headphones. This adapter is made for cell phone earphones with a mic. It splits the mic and ear functions for use in separate mic and earphone jacks, like in a laptop. It won't work with headphones with no mic - that's not it's function.
Weaknesses:
