Strengths:
When my Synology DS223J NAS experienced a number of outages, it notified me that I was at risk of potential data loss and recommended a UPS to avoid this.
I did some research and learned that this CP1000 UPS has a clean, pure sinewave output and is the lowest priced unit I could find with this feature. It was also in the "compatible" list of UPS units for my NAS.
I have it set up just to power the DS223J. With my settings and the interconnecting USB cable, the CP1000 tells the 223J when it has lost mains power and is supplying backup power. The NAS then waits five minutes and initiates its safe shutdown procedure. Once in a safe state to power off, the NAS tells the CP1000 to power down and both units do so.
Then, when the CP1000 detects mains power is back, it turns back on and waits 10 seconds to ensure stable input power. Then it turns on the Synology which boots back up and is ready to go in a couple minutes.
Additional Comments:
This scheme uses very little of the internal battery capacity and ensures that if the battery doesn't have time to recharge due to repeated outages occurring in a short time, it will be capable of handling a number of shutdown/startup cycles.
It is important to note that a UPS is not a backup power supply. It is not meant to run connected equipment for long periods of time - its sole purpose is to give connected equipment stable power during an outage long enough for the equipment to safely shut down. The CP1000 does this very well for my NAS.

Strengths:
Good price
Small footprint
Weaknesses:
I was getting an overload warning - when I am only using 40% load capacity
Additional Comments:
I first got this CP1000, thinking that I will not be using around 400 Watts, but when I plugged in my pc and 27" monitor, I get an intermittent overload warning, I tried resetting the UPS but still giving me a problem so I decided to buy the bigger one, CP1500 - which I think is an overkill for my use, but at least now I don't get the overload warning.
This review is based on my 3 hour usage of this UPS.

Strengths:
Love the front side display, allows you to see your watt usage while playing games rather than switching to the windows gadget
Weaknesses:
Plugin slots could be spread out a bit more, I cant use two of them just due to the plugs my devices use
Additional Comments:
Good buy, price is good, using 300 watt (playing games) i have about 10 min backup, using about 100 for just windows gives me about 18 min backup time. Small in size, very happy overall!
