Great cooler for the price.

Strengths:

Uniformly machined plate for maximum thermal transfer. Aesthetically pleasing for a low price. Easy mount fan clips Instructions are pretty clear for any compatible socket

Additional Comments:

Cooling a 5700x and keeping temps optimal. These 5xxx series CPUs like to run high voltage but i'm not seeing anything over 65° C on load. Great Value. I've bought somewhere in the realm of 10 of these for various builds. They're great for any CPU under 145 watts.

Cheap but not amazing

Strengths:

Affordable price, visually looks pretty decent, relatively easy to mount, quiet under low load

Weaknesses:

Doesn't cool much better than stock, fan can get loud at high rpm

Additional Comments:

On a stock i5 6600 temps are good at idle (25° ~ 30° C) but upon starting an all-core p95 load temp immediately shoots up to ~85° C before settling down to 75° ~ 78° C, and that's with the fan running at full speed at those temps. Even swapping out for the shorter LGA1200 spacers for more clamping pressure and using MX5 rather than the included cheap paste, temps only dropped a few degrees under load. The CPU speeds don't throttle even during the initial temp spike, so it seems like the heatsink is having a hard time absorbing the sudden heat load. Other reviews got a lot better performance even with higher TDP CPUs more in line with what I was expecting, so maybe I just got a bad unit, but as is, under normal light web browsing use it only gets up to 45 ~ 50° C so still good enough for me.
