Nice up grade from 6600 XT

Strengths:

I'm very happy that I upgraded to this card and I'm very happy with the performance increase this card has over the 6600XT.

Weaknesses:

None

Additional Comments:

I would recommend this card great price to performance and great build quality.

Great Card / Didn't Last

Strengths:

Very understated look, no real "In Your Face" RGB. The card performed on par or a bit faster than the reviews showed it in. It ran cool and quiet, so the cooler was more than adequate for this GPU. I purchased it on Nov 6th, and in the short time I had it, I was moderately happy with it.

Weaknesses:

And it died, magic smoke released. As I said I purchased it on the 6th of November, and I went into surgery on the 13th. I really only had a chance to benchmark it in that week. I was in the hospital for just over a week and got home on the 21st. So I hadn't really even used the card. I really got into using it on the 24th, I played a few hours of Sniper Elite 5 interspersed with some more benchmarking. This morning, I was scrolling on my phone next to my computer, and it turned off. All the RGB on the motherboard was still active. I attempted to turn it back on, but it wouldn't respond to the power button. I turned the power off on the PSU and let the power drain from the Motherboard / PSU, and then turned it back on. I hit the power switch on my case and PFFFFTTTTT, a bunch of smoke poured out of the area near the VBIOS switch on the card. I quickly swapped in a 980GTX that I had sitting on my desk, and I was able to boot to Windows.

Additional Comments:

So to be clear I am reviewing the experience I had with this singular card. There is no reason to believe that the issue is endemic of the whole series of RX 7800XT's from ASUS or the GPU from AMD. However, I can't in good conscious give it anything but a single star review, because that doesn't reflect the overall experience I had with this particular card. Only time will tell if this is a one off, or there is a greater problem. For now I will return it to MEMEX, I did purchase the IPR, and see what they can do. A quick search shows they are out of stock of both ASUS models (gunmetal and white) of this card. So I may have to put my ASUS 2070 Super back into my PC until they can sort out the repair / replacement of my RX 7800XT.
