Probably the best 2k monitor going. Super fast no blur.

Strengths:

Almost no ghosting at all Great colors Great interface On screen program to adjust the monitor works great Study and well built Good stand functionality. IPS

Weaknesses:

Stand base is a bit bulky - I still really like it Ports on the back are a bit tricky depending on the cable. Registers as a playback device on PC (sound) - there are no speakers in this monitor.

Additional Comments:

This monitor is awesome, I'm here to buy a second. I have been using this monitor for just over a year, and it has seen thousands of hours of intense gaming sessions. This was the monitor I ended up getting after buying and testing about 5 other monitors - ASUS x 2 / ACER / GIGABYTE G27Q / LG. (Thanks Amazon and Best Buy) This one schooled them all, this thing has great colors and hands down blew everything out of the water when it came to ghosting.... with ASUS being the worst at the time. To test this, just Google the UFO FPS Test and see how your monitor stacks up. I spent probably 40+ hours researching and testing the "best rated" monitors at the time in this price range - real world with no gimmicks this is the only one that lived up to the hype. Being a year later, there may be some better options... but you won't be disappointed if you get this. Anyway, highly recommend this monitor! And Memory Express, who stands behind the products they sell.

Died after 5 months

Strengths:

Great screen, visually terrific.

Weaknesses:

Died after 5 months of use.

Additional Comments:

Maybe I got a lemon, happens. But have to send it back to Gigabyte and being told it could be a month or two before getting my monitor back. Cause of this reason, 3/5 stars.

Hard to beat at this pricepoint.

Strengths:

-smooth 170hz -virtually no ghosting -easy to navigate menu -can be great for bright rooms -IPS panel

Weaknesses:

-backlight bleeding on the bottom corners is noticeable when on a black screen -out of the box colour settings are terrible -BGR subpixel layout can sometimes make text hard to read (windows ClearType can help with this but will not fully solve the problem)

Additional Comments:

This is a great 1440p gaming monitor for under $500. After some colour customization, I have no real complaints about this monitor other than the backlight bleeding when the screen is black. If this monitor is ever on sale, do not hesitate to buy it. Even at full price, it is a smart purchase if you don't want to spend $600 on a monitor before tax.
