Strengths:
- Beautiful display
- Keyboard and track pad are fairly good
- Decent amount of storage
- Good performance at this sale price point
- Easy to access internals for upgrades
Weaknesses:
- Doesn't feel super solid. There's noticeable chassis flex, but this is expected at this price point, laptop size, and material.
- Only 8GB of RAM stock, but easily remedied.
Additional Comments:
I've only had it for a week, but I'm pleased with it so far. It's a great value with the sale and is a nice upgrade from a Sandy Bridge era dual core Toshiba that was starting to die. The display is really nice and the extra real estate is welcome. Mine came with one stuck pixel, but it's not noticeable enough to bother me. It only comes with 8GB, but is easily doubled since there's a free slot. I checked the speed and timings and then picked up a stick of Ripjaws (MX00116746) I also threw in a spare 240GB SSD I had lying around while I had it open for some additional storage. It is a 17.3" model, so it's not small, but not too heavy thanks to the chassis material. Looking forward to putting some games on it, but tempering expectations for performance due to the GTX 1650.
