ROG STRIX RX 5700XT OC GAMING is very good!

Strengths of the product

Basically competes head to head with 2070 and 2070 Super. Wins some and loses some. Costs less than a 2070 Super. Quiet and very well made. AMD is releasing drivers at very regular intervals. Dual BIOS switch and RGB support including RGB LED kill switch.

Weaknesses of the product

No Raytracing support yet but at this level of card you can't get Raytracing and high fps anyways. Drivers are almost there. There have been some bugs causing black screens. Most of those are gone with current AMD Adrenalin 2020 drivers.

Additional Comments

If you are getting this card in the price point of a 2070 or 2070 Super, this one is a great buy.

This card is faulty

Strengths of the product

Cool RGB, Premium PCB for water cooling if you so can choose (This would negate the heatsink issues.)

Weaknesses of the product

Heatsink issues due to manufacturing defect and poor quality control. Drivers and software are a mess. Numerous system and game crashes. Have to hard reset the PC.

Additional Comments

This card idled at 55-60 degrees for me and gaming could shoot up as high as 90 degrees. Numerous information sources on the net show the ASUS card in particular has a heatsink issue. The screws are too long and causes the heatsink to pull away from the card. Overall performance is fine. But the AMD software and drivers are so buggy that you should prepare yourselves to experience numerous crashes, Chrome crashing, Video bugs etc etc etc. I would recommend not touching any 5700xt and just spend more money for the 2070 super or get a 2060 super. Like I should have. Nvidia software just works.

Top-Tier 5700 XT Performance

Strengths of the product

Great overclocked performance out of the box, dual mode VBIOS switch, good looking shroud and backplate design, tasteful LED effects, case fan headers are a nice touch

Weaknesses of the product

Stock 'Performance' mode VBIOS pumps too much voltage and has a poor fan curve (either nothing or 100% it seems), heavy card could lead to sag over time, 'Quiet' mode requires a VBIOS update but then it's much better

Additional Comments

The Strix RX 5700 XT is a solid performer and hits the sweet spot in price to performance for 1440p gaming. ASUS must be getting some nicely binned chips as stock performance over 2,000 MHz on the core clock comes easily right out of the box. As a high-end model, this card gets close to RTX 2070 levels of performance for a few hundred dollars less. Despite the triple-fan design and hefty radiator, temps in stock configuration can get quite high. Highly recommend undervolting the card and creating a custom fan curve using some tuning utility (ASUS GPU Tweak, Afterburner, Radeon etc) to improve performance and noise. This card easily hit 2,030+ MHz with 1,100 mV and ran about 15 ~ 20 °C cooler than stock Performance mode. Other sites suggest this and other higher-end Navi cards can sustain clocks around 2,000 MHz with between 1,000 ~ 1,100 mV making a big improvement to the temperature situation as well as allowing for higher boost clocks.

Huge powerhouse.

Strengths of the product

Custom ASUS 5700XT PCB with better design & components than stock/other 5700xt partner cards. Very strong cooling solution, card stays below 70° C under heavy load. Easy RGB control with ASUS Aura Sync. Powerful card at a great price.

Weaknesses of the product

This thing is huge as f, like massive, make sure your case fits it. Heavy with instant GPU sag. Not as mature of an ecosystem as NVIDIA.

Additional Comments

IMO this was the best value to performance you can get for higher end cards in 2019. 5700 xt competes with the 2070 super/2080. You are essentially getting 2/3 of the performance of a 2080 ti for 1/3 of the price. ASUS also did not cheap out of this partner card and equipped this model with a custom PCB with exceptionally better design, components, and cooling than the stock/other partner 5700xt cards. After hours of gaming the unit never goes above 60 ~ 65° C. Can't wait for future optimizations of the drivers and already this has been a solid buy.

Strengths of the product

I dont think it has any...

Weaknesses of the product

The whole thing.

Additional Comments

Card runs very hot at all times. Idle temp runs between 50° ~ 60° C, while gaming the temp is between 75° ~ 90° C. Black screen happens often while gaming or not gaming. Only way to get the display to come back on is having to push the reset button. I've own this card for about 3 weeks now and I regret buying it as it has been a headache since day one.

Strengths of the product

Top quality manufacturing and boost clocks work great hits 2,035 megahertz consistent

Weaknesses of the product

Older version drivers but the latest update works perfectly with everything is a lot faster, the new radian 2020 driver lastest update.

Additional Comments

Or double the speed of a 580 or 590 went from 50 frames up to 124 frames per second. Auto settings seems to work the best runs cool and quiet and seems to boost really good and works better

Nice Card!

Strengths of the product

Powerful, quiet and good low temps

Weaknesses of the product

Drivers still need a little work

Additional Comments

Upgraded from An ROG Strix rx580. Prelim benchmarking shows at least double the performance, dual BIOS, emps are good, setup a manual profile in GPU II Tweak. So Far very pleased with the performance Gains.Would highly Recommend.
