First Time Samsung Buyer

Weaknesses:

Samsung no original package, no return. Sad!

Additional Comments:

Purchased the 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 PCI-E x4 SSD, 1TB on Feb 2022 then it crashed on May 2023. Samsung does not accept unless it is returned in the original packaging. I do not have the original package. I never had a problem with Seagate or Western Digital on returns with the original package. Last time I buy any Samsung products.

Can't complain

Strengths:

They seem to work as advertised, and so far I've had no issues with any of the myriad samsung SSDs I've put into computers over the years.

Weaknesses:

None I can think of

Additional Comments:

Been rocking 2 512gb 970EVO NVME SSDs for about 3 years now, and recently picked up a 2tb on sale to replace one of the 512gb ones. Absolutely no complaints. Runs fast, seems to be fine regardless of whether it has a heatsink or not - but I have a large case with plenty of fans so that may be contributing to the one that has no heatsink performing well. The 512gb I pulled out of the PC to put in the 2tb is now being used in an external SSD enclosure, and makes for a fantastic USB drive. I've been using Samsung SSDs since I bought my first 840 evo Sata SSD way back in the day, and even that one is still going strong in the core 2 duo laptop I put it in. I definitely trust Samsung SSDs!

My first kick at a Samsung NVME- disapppointment

Strengths:

Installed in my system replace my WD NVME. Looking for more speed Well it gets very high speed was nice!

Weaknesses:

Gets Hot, install more fan to keep cooler. Kept causing system to reboot. BIOS could not find the drive Then it reports a 0 size and died. Had it for a whole 2 weeks. Not impressed

Additional Comments:

Wasted a ton of hours rebooting my system to find it Not impressed Speed wise was nice when it worked

Power and Balance

Strengths:

Performs more smoother than Samsung 970 PRO. Multi tasking is better and have not experienced any lag compared to its predecessors.

Weaknesses:

It can heat up sometimes but putting this in a heatsink solves the problem. I used EKWB Passive cooler heatsink.

Additional Comments:

Highly recommended Gen3 M.2

amazing product with a flaw.

Strengths:

Fast! Made windows boot up and game loading fast!

Weaknesses:

burned out within a year but warranty had it covered. apparently m.2 drives are a risk for not knowing the average life.

Additional Comments:

highly recommended to pick up the opt warranty to ensure no issues.
