Nice little adapter.

Strengths:

Cheap No loss in performance for PCIex version 3.0 drives. I tested 2 identical drives one of which is in this adapter and one in my motherboard and the one in this adapter won by a few points (margin of error mostly) Very low profile so I was able to mount this right below my graphics card which is 3 slot and it isn't blocking the GPU fans to any extent. was nice that it came with a tiny screwdriver.

Weaknesses:

It seems a little strange that the heatsink installs below the SSD but I guess the backside of chips need love as well. Does not specify anywhere on the product page or the manufacturers website but I found an online comment by a seller of this on amazon that this is PCIEX version 3.0 with backwards compatible to 2.0 so don't use with one of the newer 4.0 drives or you will lose performance in some cases (sequential mostly)

Additional Comments:

Good little adapter for the money assuming it holds up over time.

Awesome. Works in MacPro5,1

Strengths:

MacPro5,1 can natively boot OS from this, if you've installed the 144.0.0.0.0 Boot ROM firmware. The low profile is lovely too, nice for keeping out of the way of airflow.

Weaknesses:

You rely entirely on friction to keep this in place, but that seems to work completely fine.

Additional Comments:

I'm thrilled that my 2010 vintage MacPro5,1 boots from this natively. Excellent improvement over SATA II, which is what the MacPro5,1 shipped with.

Works great!

Strengths:

Works perfectly with 1TB 970 EVO. The low profile form factor allows installation next to the video card without impeding air flow. Only $20...WOW

Weaknesses:

honestly can't think of any

Additional Comments:

Incredible value. I felt obligated to write a review I'm so satisfied with this product. :)
