Works great - solid performer in the Canadian winter

Strengths:

Great image quality for the price. I have three outdoors and they all performed well over the winter, including down to -32. I know it gets colder than this in Canada, but this is as cold as we got here in Calgary. When used along with the UniFi Cloud Key Gen2 Plus, it's very simple to setup and use. Very good audio pickup (conversations 6m from the camera are picked-up outside). Focus is sharp.

Weaknesses:

Built-in IR illumination tends to illuminate flying bugs at nighttime. This is a problem with any camera that places IR lights right near the lens.

Additional Comments:

Reliable performer through Canadian winters.

Good camera

Strengths:

Solid build quality. Picture quality is excellent, mic is really sensitive. The Unifi-video software is pretty good. Has a really handy "timeline" feature, altho it's beta. Make sure you give it plenty of recording room because it will just stop (or not start) if it reaches the threshold. You can set up various streaming servers and integrate with some other surveillance systems. Unifi video software here: https://www.ui.com/download/unifi-video/unifi-video-camera-g3/uvc-g3 I use the Ubuntu verrsion on a VM, works great!.

Weaknesses:

Documentation/manual.

Additional Comments:

Ignore the software app recommendation from the documentation. I tried the android app and, apart from being complerly different than what's described in the manual, it diidn't work. Apparently the IOS version works fine. Then I found the unif-video software. This is what I wanted but no real mention of it in their included docs. Also no mention of its builtin in management which is pretty basic but totally functional. Weird. I got this on sale good value even at its reg price.

Outstanding value for the money

Strengths:

The entire eco system is very reliable and solid. Nothing advertised about the camera is deceitful like other brands. It just works and very well too. All data is stored local. No additional costs. Works as well or better than other security cameras on the market costing 3-4x more money. Clips are awesome. Timeline functionality is VERY nice, smooth and fast.

Weaknesses:

None for me

Additional Comments:

I have tried just about every major brand out there, spent thousands on camera systems promising this and that, super hi-res cameras, wireless, battery operated, etc. only to find out that some features don't work unless you plug the battery powered camera in or video quality is NOTHING like advertised, you only get this feature or that feature with a subscription, etc. very deceitful marketing. Finally settled on UniFi. Everything they advertise is true. Camera is very reliable and simply just works. Quality is fantastic. Sound is great. Easy to setup and the value for the money is outstanding. Once you are over all the gimmicky stuff out there you will find the UniFi system is the only rock solid system out there. Cameras are totally configurable from the phone. Accessible from the phone or your computer anywhere. Very secure communication, uses a VOIP protocol to communicate - genius.

Very good

Strengths:

Very configurable camera, Mic, PoE, 3 optional RTSP feeds, features are not gimmicky and actually work, scrubbing video is super smooth, best iPhone app I have ever seen and used

Additional Comments:

This camera is a jump up from the 720p cameras I have had. The product quality is HIGH. Value and functionality is outstanding.

Decent camera for the price

Strengths:

Quality is good for its size Lots of mounting options Powered by PoE Outdoor rated.

Weaknesses:

The UniFi Video software takes a bit of getting used to and its going to get phased out for UniFi Protect in the future, but once you adpot one camera adding more is easy.

Additional Comments:

I've started switching my home network over to Ubiquiti gear, have 2x 16 port PoE switches, a USG and i run the software currently off of a Gigabyte Brix Mini PC (going to upgrade it to an Intel NUC with an i7 instread of the Celeron the Gigabyte has for more transcoding power once i add more camera's. I have it set to motion record and have an extrernal 6TB harddrive to record too. Currently have 2 of these Flex camera's and a G3 dome. Also running the UniFi controller and UniFi Video on Ubuntu 18.04. I will be buying a few more of thewse or maybe a couple of G3 Pro's to finish off my surveillance system.

IT Manager

Strengths:

we have converted our entire network and camera system to Unifi. The cameras have great video quality and really clear audio as well. They are flexible and have an amazing price point and all their gear. A GREAT option for anyone looking to upgrade or install new.

Weaknesses:

Requires a Ubiquiti cloud key (we are using a CK Gen 2+)..... works great but needs that extra. not an issue for us but maybe for others. still very competitive with other brands.

Additional Comments:

GREAT products all around.... would and do recommend to others all of the time.... a no brainer!!

Have two of these and I like them

Strengths:

Pretty good video both day and night. Small and compact.

Weaknesses:

When I was setting these up I was really new at the camera thing so it took me a while to figure out the software part of it. I had it working on the Unifi video software but in order to work with other cameras I switched to ContaCam opensource video software.

Additional Comments:

Nice camera

Additional Comments:

G3 flex is pretty decent

Strengths:

comes with hardware to mount to ceiling, wall or pole plus rubber base to stand on its own no wifi - PoE Only for power and data, this is also its strength excellent picture quality being used for baby monitor and garage security with solid performance Flexible use case uses as standalone, with Unifi Video or Unifi Protect RTSP streaming!

Weaknesses:

requires PC/Server with Unifi Video or the Ubiquiti NVR/CloudKey Gen2 Plus with Unifi Protect to manage it with its fullest feature set.

Additional Comments:

Strong little performer with an excellent price to get your security upgraded! if you have issues setting these up Ubiquiti staff are 24/7 through chat support to assist using an already setup Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus with two other G3 cameras and Unifi protect took about 6 mins to set two of these up

Weaknesses:

Terrible software, terrible support just doesn't work. It is as if they go out of their way to make it difficult to use.
