Strengths of the product

Got the thingy on boxing day sale, what a steal. it is a fantastic monitor. Is my first foray into curved monitors, and gotta say the resolution, color and quality are all exceptional. If I can get 6 or more years out of this, I would be a happy camper.

Weaknesses of the product

Additional Comments

Now that i have been using it for a few weeks, i would easily pay full load for it.

2 Dead Monitors and decided to go for a BenQ again.

Strengths of the product

Clean Curve HDR Multiple choices for display options. Freesync 1 and Premium (Nvidia Compatible) 144hz

Weaknesses of the product

None so far.

Additional Comments

I decided to get a new BenQ after buying 2x MSI monitors that resulted in dead pixels. Please be aware that 144hz on my end needs to be overclocked through the Nvidia panel. The refresh rate through DP sticks to 120hz until you overclock which is not bad, but I would have preferred it to do it by itself. So far no dead pixels and not so bad back light bleeding. Nothing showing but obviously I snagged the in store warranty so if issues come up, I will just swap it.

Strengths of the product

Excellent LFC compensation below 48mhz VRR range Outstanding real world performance! HDR does make a noticeable difference in supported games Pairs very well with Vega

Weaknesses of the product

Uneven back light issues, very bad on black screen but not noticeable in real world testing

Additional Comments

Real world gaming picture and performance is outstanding! Freesync 2 working with my Vega 56. Its a great pairing! Playing the new Tomb Raider and Metro with mostly Ultra setting and get ~55-60 FPS. No dead or stuck pixels but my unit does suffer from some light bleeding. Not noticed in real world but disappointing. Only been using it for a couple days now but its a beautiful monitor. HDR "works" and makes a nice visual improvement but don't expect HDR effects like your OLED TV's produce. Monitor tech ins't there yet, at least for the masses. EDIT: Got to put this monitor through its paces when I spend time undervolting/OCing my Vega 56 and observing the monitor during 3DMark; the gaming performance is outstanding! During FireMark and Time Spy i was able to witness Freesyec 2 in action; above 48FPS Freesync works as intended with no visual tearing. What really impressed me is the LFC mode. This did a superb job of preventing tearing with very little and minor impact to the visuals until FPS dipped in the low 30's then the picture quality degraded. I was blown away at how smooth the transition was between LFC and VRR. The hand off is barely noticeable between ther two modes. Conclusion For gaming 10/10 The LFC mode is absolutely stellar! I don't think you could ask for a better gaming monitor. For media 7.5/10 The mentioned inconsistencies with the lighting along the top and bottom edge is noticeable with black borders. Absolutely recommend!
