Awesome Headset

Strengths:

-Very comfortable and adjustable -Great sound -Can do 7.1 -Driver support -Software it comes with -chat volume knob -Supported by everything under the sun -Push button mute with mic light -Volume control on headset -I use it on the PS4 as well

Weaknesses:

-Cord Length/dongle. Would have been nice to omit it entirely.

Additional Comments:

John's headset might have been a lemon. I would recommend these Headphones if you like an adjustable, comfortable, great sounding headset. The wireless one is the way to go if you got a few more buck, but this one doesn't break the bank.

Drone Pilot

Strengths:

I really love these. The sound quality is amazing. They are super comfortable. I have no issues with the mic sounding "tinny". They are sturdy. The mix dial is quite handy to adjust voice chat vs game sounds. I can adjust the LED's to match my system.

Weaknesses:

The weird propriety cable for the headset, although it's only propriety from the headset to the mixer dial, which is normally hard wired on other head sets anyways...so I have no problem with it.

Additional Comments:

These are great headphones.

I would recomend these but there are a few gripes I have with them.

Strengths:

Comfortable Ear pads are made out of a breathable, cloth material and not Pleather (polyurethane) I have no complaints about the sound quality, actually quite pleased with it. Software is lightweight and provides a lot of functionality The cord is long. You can shut the rgb off It comes with 3.5mm jack cord option Concealable mic

Weaknesses:

Ok my biggest gripe is the cord. There are two of them that make up the entire length of the headphone cord. The first cord goes from your headphones to the volume knob. IT IS A PROPRIETARY CORD. It is not micro usb and if that cord is damaged you will have to replace it with a Steel series replacement, it does come with a 3.5mm jack adapter so they are not sending you down the river without a paddle. The volume knob is cool but you have to mount it somewhere or the movement of the cord while you wear it will turn the volume knob either direction and it can be irritating. Also there are 3 connection points for the headset cord and it increases wear and tear through out the life of the headset. Another thing to keep in mind, I have a average sized head and these fit a little loose. It uses a velcro head band and you can only adjust it to a certain height. So it might fit a little low and not centred on smaller heads.

Additional Comments:

I would 100% recommend this head set to my friends, the only thing you have to keep in mind is taking care of the headset cord and that this is for medium to larger sized heads. Its a good headset and I have no regrets.

Poor headset

Strengths:

They looked really good. They are aesthetically, really, a pleasing headset. They had some features that were pretty cool. I really wanted to love them. It broke my heart having to return these headphones, because they actually look so damn good. It's too bad they sound awful.

Additional Comments:

There is 1 star review posted here by Jonathan. He pretty much sums up the experience you're going to get with these headphones. I've used many wireless headsets in the past, and I just could not believe how badly these sounded. They sounded worse than any headset I've ever used, wireless or non wireless, stereo or surround, you name it. Just plain terrible. Please stay away.

Good Value for Price

Strengths:

- Decent audio quality (if EQ'd properly). I'd give it a 4/5. The high frequency response is a little weak compared to a studio quality headset, but you get what you pay for. - Noise Reduction works great! Removes annoying mechanical keyboard clicks (and heavy breathing, if you are one of those...) - Intuitive Steel series Interface - Stylish and comfortable - Mic quality exceptional and I really appreciated the mic sidetone feature. - Wired headset, the stability is a strength over any wireless headset.

Weaknesses:

- The DTS Headphone X 7.1 surround sound sounded very "tin-ny" in some games and I actually found it more difficult to determine which direction a sound came from so I turned it off. - I found the chat/game volume mixer does not perform as well as it should.

Additional Comments:

Great value headset for the price with a lot of quality features. I would recommend to any gamer. If I bought another headset, I'd probably go with the wireless Arctis 7 version.

Get something else

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Tin-sounding mic ("It sounds like you're in a can") USB via proprietary software or 4 pole connector only. Have an expensive soundcard? Too bad. Use the spamware that gives you ads for Steel Series products on your desktop instead. The band does not compensate for non-height adjustable ear cups. Don't have ears where steel series wants them? Suffer for it. Mediocre to poor sounding audio. Turn no audio on on the computer. Crank the volume, put on the headset. You can hear white noise the entire way through. It makes noise on a wired connection, whereas other known good headsets don't.

Additional Comments:

Steel series might want to apologize for this headset. It's unilaterally terrible, and by forcing you to use proprietary software it forces you onto a tiny sound stage with awful sound reproduction. Get yourself a Sennheiser set instead.
