Phenomenal drive for the price point

Strengths of the product

Incredibly fast performance. This drive does as well as the Samsung EVO drives, but at a much better price point. What ADATA has done is to hold back storage as a buffer to ensure you don't end up in a place where drive performance is suffering because there's too much data. The only drives you'll find on the market that are materially faster are something the Samsung PRO drives, but they're much more expensive. An extremely good balance of price and performance by ADATA on this drive. Reading online, apparently ADATA is buying the wafers directly from the manufacturers in bulk, then binning them themselves, and that's how they're keeping their prices so low. Don't be fooled - this is the same type of SSD storage as used in more expensive drives from better known manufacturers.

Weaknesses of the product

You lose about 32GB of storage (it's 512GB of memory on the board), but it's in the service of better overall performance. The packaging is as "bare bones" as it gets. There's not even any simple installation instructions. It's the drive, a heat sink / sticker and a mounting screw. Thankfully, it's not exactly rocket science to install one of these.

Additional Comments

Phenomenally good value for a PCI Express SSD at the time of this writing. Great performance, reliability and 5 Year Warranty! I expect these may be a hard item to buy over time just because it'll be difficult to make them fast enough. Great job, ADATA!
