Brilliant Monitor in many ways

Submitted on Monday, May 28, 2018

Strengths of the product

Bright and sharp image. Wide format gives you lots of real estate for your windows. Games that support the wide format feel much more immersive. Cinema widescreen movies actually fill the screen. 100Hz frame rate looks so good, not locked to a particular brand of card. Lots of settings options, including PiP, and varied colour settings. Wireless charger at the base is a nice use of the space.

Weaknesses of the product

No vertical adjustment, although it does tilt. You'll need a monitor riser for good positioning. Speakers are reasonable, but don't quite live up to the hype. If you haven't used a curved monitor before, it takes a little getting used to. You'll need a good graphics card to drive this thing well.

Additional Comments

After looking at ultrawides for a while now, this one popped up at ME at under $1000 which was a big selling point. The monitor is beautiful with almost no bezel. It's big, of course, but a smaller footprint than two monitors. I've tried several games running off my GTX1070 at 100Hz, and there is no screen tearing. Note that the monitor does not use G-Sync/Free-Sync at all, despite what reviews on other websites might indicate.
