This Prime B360M-A Socket LGA-1151 v2 Motherboard is initially compatible with the latest 8th Gen Intel® Core™ Series, Pentium Gold G5xxx Series and Celeron G49xx Series Processors.
Additional compatible Intel® Processors will be available in the future.
Older Socket LGA-1151 Motherboards are not pin compatible with this new Motherboard; as per Intel®, due to differences in how each pin is used by the Motherboard.

Even though it is a LGA 1151 Socket, pin assignments have changed, making this Motherboard incompatible with earlier Generation Intel® Processors, even those with an Socket LGA-1151 v1 design.
