Strengths of the product

I am using this as an external replacement for the internal fusion drive on my aging iMac. Performance increase is remarkable.

Weaknesses of the product

None that I can see after 8 months.

Additional Comments

Worthy, particularly at a Boxing Week price.

Strengths of the product

No issues setting it up. Used as one of my main drives. Very fast, has absolutely no issues keeping up. Transfers extremely fast with M.2 using 3.1 port.

Weaknesses of the product

I wish they had 4, 8, and 12TB versions. One day.

Additional Comments

Has been a wonderful addition to my PC. Watch for sale prices, you can pick these up for cheap!

Strengths of the product

Incredibly fast - compared to a disk-based drive Small Weighs almost nothing

Weaknesses of the product

The USB connector on it failed after only a few weeks of use.

Additional Comments

I did an initial dump of data onto the drive, then started using it for backups. Transfers would fail, and fail, and fail. Every time it failed the Samsung app would have to reconnect, re-recognize the drive, then re-start the transfer. Took it back twice. The first time just dropped it off and got the "could not replicate issue" response. Brought it in with my laptop, started a transfer and showed the guy that it was failing multiple times. He took it in and... "could not replicate issue." Spent over $300 for this thing and it's useless.

Slower than you'd expect

Strengths of the product

Sleek, single cable

Weaknesses of the product

Only performs in the 300MB/s range in my experience. This is due to the Triple Level Cell (TLC) NAND flash that is more susceptible to errors and wear damage, although being cheaper to produce. Not for use in professional scenarios, only for low-pressure use like moving files or holding a second copy.

Additional Comments

Decent drive, good form factor, but too slow for professional use.
