reboot every time I want to connect anything wirelessly

Strengths of the product

awesome range once reboot complete and devices can actually connect

Weaknesses of the product

5 dissimilar devices - (2 laptops and three phones) doesn't matter if it was already connected, if the device has been off the power on the router needs to be cycled for any of the devices to connect using wireless. Attempting to return product tomorrow.

Additional Comments

For the money go with something that has higher review score and more features.

Great as an access point (so far)

Strengths of the product

- Got it on sale - Couldn't find another 4x4 antenna device for a similar price. - I use it as an access point plugged into a lan port off my wired router (DHCP disabled, changed IP to match network address) - Great range and speed throughout the house - Band steering seems to work well to put devices on the proper band

Weaknesses of the product

- As an access point it doesn't think it has an internet connection so you have to manually update the firmware. - Doesn't have a simplified access point mode so you have to know what you're doing to use it that way. - Takes up quite a bit of space with the tall antennas

Additional Comments

I would have liked to have gotten an actual AP without all of these unnecessary router features, but none are available with the same level of wireless performance at this price. I still don't trust consumer routers to handle complex UPnP requests.

Not worth it

Strengths of the product

Easy setup.

Weaknesses of the product

Didn't work out of the box. Smart connect didn't work. Dropping signal. Hard line devices not working. No better than a AC1900. Waste of money & time

Additional Comments

Always loved D-link devices but this router is the worst one I have ever had. Don't be fooled with all the new tech in this device.
