Bought 2 of these and pretty impressed!

Strengths of the product

I originally bought one of these last fall to run Linux on my old mac pro and was so impressed I bought another to run Linux on an old HP laptop. I only bought the 120GB models as an experiment to see how a drive under $30 can make old machines newer again. I don't think they are the fastest drives but if you are using a spinner disk it is no contest. My HP laptop from 2012 feels super fast running Ubuntu Budgie. I think it feels faster than newer windows systems that cost $700. If you have an old laptop put one of these in your computer and it will be awesome.

Weaknesses of the product

Maybe i would buy a bigger size like 500GB to dual boot with Windows. 120GB is big enough for Linux but not Windows.

Additional Comments

Try one for the price; they are awesome. I am writing this review on my 7 year old HP running Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 LTS using the Chromium (Google Chrome) web browser. Try Linux and you won't miss other operating systems. Especially with inexpensive hard drives like this Kingston.

Strengths of the product

Fast SSD speeds Kingston is a reliable company Very low price Just the right size for a pure Windows operating system installation. Everything just worked.

Weaknesses of the product

None so far.

Additional Comments

I was using a Patriot Inferno 2nd gen 60GB SSD in my older Athlon X64 triple core PC at work. I just ran out of space after four years, and no matter what I did I could only free up 7GB. The price of this drive was excellent, and it doubles my space ensuring I will not have any space issues in the future. The drive seems a touch faster than the Inferno was. Win win...

I've worked with several of these, as well as the previous UV400s. Never had a problem any of them. These turned out to be an excellent, affordable, upgrade. Well worth the cost/effort.
