Strengths:
Easy to set up, and use. It is POE powered, so if you have a POE switch or injector, this thing will just work. If not, it can be powered by a USB-C cable. Others have mention that a computer can run the software, or in docker, which is true, but a computer uses significantly more power annually. If you have equipment to run docker, and have the knowledge or want to learn, then use that. If you want to use more features, including a guest network and just want something simple, without an extra computer, this is a great addition. Another option would be to add the USG device, as it has the controller in it, and you get two devices for the price of one.
Weaknesses:
Didn't have a USB cable and adapter. Have a few around the house, but would be nice to just have it all in the package already.
Additional Comments:
Low power consumption and small foot print make this device an easy addition for a more elaborate consumer grade wireless network.

Strengths:
None
Weaknesses:
Will need substantial update when you first use it.
No way to mitigate power loss risks.
Expensive.
Additional Comments:
Alex is right. This is a waste of money.
You don't even need dedicated hardware to run your controller... It can run only when you want to monitor or change your setup.
This Cloud Key is extremely poorly designed. For instance, the UniFi software depends on MongoDB which is prone to catastrophic failure when not shut down nicely. Sure this is an issue no matter where you host it, but at least you can easily mitigate that with a laptop battery, etc.
Honestly, this is not worth the plastic it is made from.

Strengths:
Simple
Effective
Easy to use
Weaknesses:
Not really rack mountable, it just flops around.
Additional Comments:
Alex from Victoria is right, you can run the controller software on a raspberry pi or other solution for free.
The catch is, it's only free if your time is worthless.
I did that for 3 years, the hassle and headache of keeping that solution up to date isn't worth it.
The cloud key is absolutely the right way to go if you're investing in Ubiquiti Unifi equipment.
I don't regret it.
