-Good price/TB ratio -Fast reads -Has been working 24/7 for over 1.5 year now
-May slow down if writing a lot at once since this is an SMR drive
This has a regular Seagate Compute drive inside which is SMR with all advantages and drawbacks of the technology.

I thought it was defective. I had to go in to disk manager and assign a drive letter to this HDD before i could see it in Explorer. Was not plug and play. At least I knew how to make it work, hope its common knowledge for all the other buyers. I hate that it needs a power source but o well.
happy with it. hope this review helps others

Cheap, its' cheaper than any other 8TB hard drives on the market. I took it out from the enclosure and used as internal hard drive for backup purposes. It has standard sata 3 connector and can be connected very easily to any motherboard. Real capacity is about 7.27 TB, so I can throw away all my old hard drives and store them on a single one. Sequential read/write speed is about 120MB/s, average for HDDs.
Wake up is slow, they are in sleep mode when not used, it took about 2-3 seconds to spin up when I'm trying to open anything. But this is Okay for me since it's only for back up purpose.
Good product for the price, recommended and I will need another one very soon.
