YES, avoid this line of Gygabyte z370 motherboards!

Strengths of the product

Support DDR4-2660... Nice LED show... PCI and Ram slots looks nice with the chrome... Lots of USB 3 and 3.1 slots...

Weaknesses of the product

The location of the M.2 card could have been placed at a better location. You will need to remove the GPU card if you wish to install or remove the M.2. No Power/Reset or Memory test buttons. You will need to plug in the little cables from your case in order to quickly test the motherboard/system. The Bios menu is so so. It feels lagged and it is not clear what you can change and what is just for your information.

Additional Comments

I purchased the Gaming 5 model instead, but they are all the same board really. I had it installed at the store and that brand new one died or was not working. They switched it with an open box one (did not advise me or get my permission) and it seems it worked I guess... Like Mike said above, I can confirm this board will do something nasty. I got everything set up and managed to boot up into the Bios. Played around and at the end, loaded the Optimized default settings an rebooted...

Strengths of the product

Looks pretty cool with the RGB features

Weaknesses of the product

Bad board

Additional Comments

Avoid this board. I recently built a desktop using this motherboard as it was bundles together with the processor and gpu and after assembly I was getting weird crashes, long story short I tracked it down to "bad ram" both sticks had multiple problems so I replaced the ram. New ram in and tadah soon having similar issues and suprise one of the two ram sticks is dead. Basically this board was roasting any ram plugged into it. I ended up exchanging it thanks to memory express customer service.

Great board, BIOS is a work in progress but improving

Strengths of the product

Gigabyte seems to be putting out updates frequently. Great overclocking features, was able to get 3.95GHz on a 1700 stable. I was stuck at 3.80GHz on the ASUS X370-Pro Mobo. Memory compatibility is better than other X370 boards at the moment...

Weaknesses of the product

F3 BIOS the board shipped with would not POST with more than 1 stick of Memory (2 x 16GB DDR4 Corsair Dominator 3000MHz). System requires an immediate BIOS update for most features and memory compatibility. Temperature was reading wrong in the BIOS until the latest update, idling my CPU read as 100+ degrees and was shutting down. The temp reading from my H110i was putting it at 34 degrees during this period.

Additional Comments

One of the better X370 boards available, BIOS is an issue with all X370 boards at the moment. Gigabyte seems to be releasing frequent updates and have put out beta updates on March 3rd and 14th, 2017 that take care of some of these issues...
