Strengths of the product

Cheap

Weaknesses of the product

Gets hot when writing files to it, very slow write speed

Additional Comments

Plain and simple do not buy this, write speed is too slow for something that is USB 3.1, spend your money elsewhere

Cheap but slow

Strengths of the product

Good price, seemingly good construction

Weaknesses of the product

Extremely slow for a USB 3 drive!

Additional Comments

I just bought this to act as a bootable drive to install Win 10 so I don't need to write that much, but the slowest USB 2 drives have always been around 16-20 MB/s so I figured the price is right. But the write speed is only 6.5-8 MB/s - a 6 GB video file takes 15 minutes to write! The read speed seems okay but it's really, really, really slow. And yes, it does get super hot when you're writing for that long! Bad combination - we'll see how long it lasts.

Don't Buy This!!!!! (update)

Don't Buy This!!!!!

Strengths of the product

Cheap, build quality is nice, full metal casing

Weaknesses of the product

Overheated, metal casing is too hot too touch after few min of writing. Slow, drive was plugged into native usb 3.1 port on motherboard (X370), and tested with AS SSD benchmark. Writing speed is ~6.5MB/S, slower than some UBS 2. drive. Reading speed is faster, ~60MB, but still just average USB3.0 speed, USB 3.1 is completely unnecessary.

Additional Comments

DONT BUY THIS!!! I'll keep it simply because I'm using it for music playback on my car, and I dont need too much performance for that, and will not be touching it frequently. If you are looking for a USB drive for daily use, I strongly recommend you find other products instead of this one.
