When we saw this review, we got in contact with Josh to see what we could do. His specific chair had a defect which made it impossible to assemble correctly. We contacted Thermaltake and they quickly agreed to replace the chair.

Memory Express has contacted Josh and he is returning with the original chair to exchange it with a new one.

Super comfortable chair

Strengths of the product

I can sit for hours in front of computer or game console. Very sturdy construction.

Weaknesses of the product

I do recall having trouble putting on the plastic covers on the side of the chair but i did get them on. The lower back cushion is hard to keep in place. I wish I had a way to secure it. I just don't use it because it doesn't stay in place as it keeps falling forward when I get out of the chair. Expensive but if it lasts as long as i think this will not be an issue. Lastly, I got a manufacturer's mail in rebate for $50. There were lots of requirements in order to submit it which was a pain. The worst part was it took so long to get it sent. It took several emails to finally get it.

Additional Comments

You might think that after all the negative comments i gave that it would get a lower score than five stars. The truth is despite these problems I experienced, I love this chair. I am very tall and I think the chair may be designed for people like me. I am impressed with how sturdy the chair is compared with any chair i have used in the past. I would definitely buy this chair again. I have had it for over a year now.

Ergonomic Disaster

Strengths of the product

Great build quality Fair few adjustments Good Lower back support

Weaknesses of the product

Kills your mid-back Head rest pillow is way too big Not enough cushion

Additional Comments

Okay overall quality is good but the way the chair is made it put my back out for 2 days, I work a lot at my desk as well as play video games and sitting on this chair for long periods KILLS my mid back. The lumbar pillows gives great support for the lower back but everything north of the lumbar pillow has no support. Due to that my back what out for 2 days and I even had to miss work because I couldn't even get into my car to drive. There's no way of adjusting it to fix this, don't buy this chair! I also couldn't figure out where to put the head rest pillow where it wouldn't be horribly useless and uncomfortable, I've literally never used it the entire time I've had it. If think about it, it doesn't make a lot of sense that an computer chair is modeled after car seats, you can't change your position at all and it makes it uncomfortable. It could also be made with some softer material as well, the cushion it does have is extremely hard.

Good chair with one problem only

Strengths of the product

overall a good chair and very robust for big guys like me.

Weaknesses of the product

Plastic caps at the side is impossible to install, its simply doesn't fit. after 1 hour of trying everything I just gave up and left sides without any covering which is kind of lame for a chair with this price. I think the manufacturers should answer for this since I am not the only one with this problem.

Additional Comments

Other than plastic covering at the side I like the chair

Happy with purchase

Strengths of the product

Solid, adjustable, comfortable

Weaknesses of the product

Plastic caps that fit over the tilt assembly are horrible, don't fit and look cheap.

Additional Comments

6'3" 240lbs have had a hard time finding comfortable chairs, at first sit it seamed a bit stiff however as you sit in it you find that firmness is actually very comfortable and greatly enhances your longevity of sitting comfortably. The caps as others have mentioned should probably not even of bothered with (they are really that bad), I just gave up and took them off, I don't look at the side much.

Strengths of the product

Comfort and build quality on this chair is top notch

Weaknesses of the product

Moldy

Additional Comments

For some reason my chair is moldy. I'm guessing it was stored in a damp environment at some point. Ever since I put this chair in my office my nose has been stuffed and last night I had trouble breathing. Yes it's that moldy! It's sad because I love this chair but I cannot let it lower my quality of life. Just my luck hey! These chairs are final sale so buyer beware. RIP $500

Official Reply from Memory Express:

When we saw this review, we contacted Dan. He brought the Chair back and we could see it was obviously defective when he purchased it.

We are unsure if it was a manufacturer defect or it happened during shipping.

Memory Express has swapped out this chair with a brand new one for Dan.

At Memory Express, even defective Final Sale Items have a return policy.

Great chair

Strengths of the product

Solid build, great adjustability, easy to assemble with just one person, very comfortable, quality materials.

Weaknesses of the product

The plastic caps over the chair tilt assembly very hard to install, seemed "cheap" given the quality of the rest of the chair.

Additional Comments

I'm 6'4" and ~ 250lb with major back issues. This chair is just what I needed. With all the possible adjustments to height, tilt, arm rests etc it took me about 5 minutes to dial in the setting I need to be able to actually sit at my computer and game without feeling like I have done myself in for the week. I would recommend sitting in one first (the Memex I was at had the "smaller" version set up and even it would have been fine but I felt a bit squished. This is a great chair and well worth it
