Solid Starter Monitor

Strengths:

Good performance for price point. Nice sized foot print. Built-in speakers do not add extra width.

Weaknesses:

Menu navigation is cumbersome. Speaker sound is okay.

Additional Comments:

I bought this monitor over a year ago as an upgrade from an older VGA LCD monitor. The move up to 1080p was great for my style of games (puzzle, driving, not FPS), and the refresh rate made a huge difference from where I started. I needed something that had built-in speakers to save space. These speakers do the job, but are not immersive and do not provide deep bass. I prefer a headset for games, so it isn’t bad for me. As this is designed for console gaming, the menu is cumbersome and takes too many steps to make adjustments like volume or inputs when more than one input is active; the menu buttons immediately bring up the different inputs if the current input is off, but it takes a lot of fiddling to get to inputs if switching between two active inputs. My son is finding it has limitations for his budding PC FPS gaming career, but it does a good job as designed for console gaming.
