Poor signal strength

Strengths of the product

Was interested in dual radio and multi SSID to VLAN capability.

Weaknesses of the product

2.4 GHz signal strength was ok. However I found that some iPhone 5s had trouble with Ch 11 as did my Brother WiFi only printer losing connectivity. 11 was chosen as there was the least interference from other neighbor APs. Imagine that selecting Ch 6 solved the iPhone and printer connectivity. Going only from Ch 11 to Ch 6. Come on!! 5 GHz now is acting up. 20 feet away from unit and multiple devices see the 5 GHz signal come and go. Both radios are set to maximum power.

Additional Comments

My devices can see APs that are 2 and 3 houses away. As soon as I get out of my front door I can no longer see this AP. Seems like "business" class is over rated. Hopefully the IPR will provide me with a unit that works better. Cisco you're losing me. Will provide a review on the replacement one.

Sounds Good, but.

Strengths of the product

Nice form factor, Easy to setup especially with POE. Has a lot of features giving you control over your WIFI options.

Weaknesses of the product

Very poor connectivity. I have a small house 1000sq ft and this device is pretty much dead center of the house. When I am in my bedroom I get a lot of dropped connections. The 5ghz is essentially useless unless you sit directly beneath the access point. Because this was marketed as something you would use in a business situation I thought that it would outperform a comparable "home" product, NOT the case.

Additional Comments

I would not recommend this for either home or business. Very disappointing.
