Strengths:
Quick and easy to use, options for both USB 3.0 and esata. Easy to install hard drive
Weaknesses:
Not made well for high performance drives
Additional Comments:
I bought this to host data and games I had from an old drive, it worked great at first, but they I started to notice it would disconnect and reconnect. I have a high-performance drive in the Enclusure, so I assume it's an overheating issue as the enclosure doesn't come with a built in fan. It frustrating when I am coping stuff and I get a disconnect and reconnect. So if you have a high performance drive, I say get an enclosure with a fan. It also gets very hot as well.

Strengths:
1) Solid construction. The plastic tray doesn't feel like those cheap plastics you would find out in other enclosures.
2) Available multiple ports (eSATA or USB 3.0)
3) Good passive cooling. The aluminum outer shell transfers heat pretty well.
4) Good and stable data transfer rate.
5) The power supply (wall wart) is small enough to NOT take up space in adjacent power outlets. And so far it hasn't started humming like those cheaply made ones.
6) This enclosure can be used for 2.5" drives too. The plastic trat has the necessary mounting points to secure it.

Weaknesses:
If I must find a weakness then it would be the power supply design. If you're using a power bar with one available outlet, the last outlet at the tail end should be used. You would run into space problems if your using multiple wall-warts on a power bar.
Additional Comments:
Originally purchased for my Shaw PVR which didn't work out the way I planned. However, I have found many uses for this such as emergency data backups and recovery. Very happy with this enclosure.

Strengths:
1. Strong solid construction.
2. ESATA PORT for cable tv gateway pvr
3. USB 3.0 port for good data transfers
4. Small footprint for space saving concerns
5. GOOD heat dissipation characteristics
Weaknesses:
None so far
Additional Comments:
I bought 2 of these recently.
1 for my Gateway PVR which requires an ESATA connection.
The Shaw gateway pvr has a 500g hard drive in it and mine was 98% full.
With this Enclosure and a 3tb NAS hard drive, I now have 3.5 tb of space and only 12% used.
Everything works flawlessly.
The 2nd one is connected to my Netgear R7000 router via the usb 3.0 port and gives me 4tb storage
to any wifi devices such as computers, cell phones, game consoles (XBOX ONE X & PS4 PRO), ETC.
