decent thumb drive, but not as good as advertised

Strengths of the product

Good price when on sale. No errors in complete write and read verify of pseudo-random data.

Weaknesses of the product

Capacity over-stated. With an advertised size of 64 GB, you would expect 64 billion bytes total (64,000,000,000), unformatted. This drive has 57.33 real gigabytes (GiB) or about 61,558,000,000 bytes. Even with the fuzzy math used by disk drive companies, that can only be rounded up to 62 billion, not 64.

Additional Comments

Average continuous read speed is 32.8 MB/s and write speed is 5.9 MB/s. This is typical for many thumb drives; don't believe faster numbers, which are temporary and due to buffering or caching.

Strengths of the product

FAST drive for the first 5 sec had trans up to 190mbps nice design, slim and compact drive Slide feature is nice, no more loosing cap style drives

Weaknesses of the product

After 5 seconds or 10 video files trans speed drops big time from up to 190mbps down to under 20mbps, transfer speed bounces around too much, need something more constant and true to the spec sheet

Additional Comments

All in all still a nice drive ,also better when on sale Will not buy a kingston drive ever! There transfer speeds never are what the specs say, I like to stick with corsair the pny are really good for speeds Just waiting for more companies to put usb 3.1 drives on the market
