Weaknesses of the product

Additional Comments

One would think that a few comments from two years ago would not reflect the entire lot of product and/or cisco would rectify or these were isolated incidents. I am baffled that this product is available for sale. Absolute junk. Failed just as others described. DNS lost, inability to maintain uptime. Purchased a UniFi after two days of frustration with this item.

Strengths of the product

Had all the features I was after for a home router.

Weaknesses of the product

Failures started with DNS caching, after updating the firmware its gotten worse, even after disabling the DNS cache it continues to log errors for the ARP table and DNS lookups.

Additional Comments

Cisco does not seem to care, so this was a poor investment.

DNS proxy fails

DNS proxy fails

Additional Comments

Using the current RV130 firmware 1.0.2.7 the DNS proxy logic fails within a week and returns without error a wrong IP address for a given domain until router reboot. I replaced the RV130 with a D-Link DSR-150N and its support for DNS proxy has not failed in three weeks. It is important for me to have support for a caching DNS proxy support in the router (as both indicate) as I access the internet over 4G LTE and the authoritative DNS server is 50ms away.
