Worked until didn't have to

Strengths of the product

Good cable availability for most modern systems. Modular plugins on unit are pretty close to the edge, probably for the 'PSU on the bottom' tower designs that are made now. Motherboard power is directly wired from the unit; the rest are modular cables. Cord wrappings are a tough plastic webbing, felt confident I could shove them in nooks for case management and not worry about damaging wires. Was quiet, ample juice.

Weaknesses of the product

Comes with a three year warranty; right after that ended, the fan started making a lot of noise. Within two months it went downhill until a simple power fan test outside of the tower would only make it jerk; the fan was pretty much toast.

Additional Comments

Worked well for as long as it legally had to, and then gave up the ghost. PSUs should be one of the most reliable (or at least they used to be) pieces in your tower. I don't know if it's a symptom of the times, but have heard PSUs being replaced more often, so maybe that's part of it. All I know is that I'm dissapointed this only lasted this long. Possible to replace fan, but that's more technical (and dangerous) then I want to get into. Replaced with a seven year warranty EVGA.

Great bang for $

Strengths of the product

-Easy fit -easy cable management -runs dual GPU's several fans and still have juice -Gold certified

Weaknesses of the product

-Stiff cable -non separable ends

Additional Comments

Other than the cables being a bit stiff and having a lot of ends on the same cable its a very capable PSU for the Price. would recommend for the average PC enthusiast.

Strengths of the product

Easily fits into most cases. Modular system is awesome and super useful. Very quiet and runs a GTX 980, FX-8350 and sooo many high performance fans. Had it for over a year and it rocks.

Weaknesses of the product

The multi-sata power cables are annoyingly spaced. I often have to bend the cord which is really stiff and I have to use multiples simply because of how my case is designed. They should have been separate ends, not all along one cord.

Additional Comments

Great PSU, excellent price and the cord problem isn't too frustrating.

Not Quiet

Strengths of the product

-Short length, good for small ITX cases -Gold certification -Semi-modular -Lots of cables

Weaknesses of the product

-Intermittently, the fan starts to whine and vibrates when idling (no load).

Additional Comments

I bought this for a HTPC build and wanted an affordable, quiet PSU. I had this unit for only 2 days when the fan first started to whine. It went away but it came back on day 3. From online reviews this seems like a normal occurrence with Corsair PSUs. I plan to return it.
