Worst Dlink ever

Strengths of the product

none

Weaknesses of the product

Its DHCP is not able to provide IPs to some devices. Some devices could get IPs normally which made me think the problem was elsewhere. It turns out the problem is with this router. Reset doesn't work. I am so pissed, have to run to my client's site again early tomorrow morning.

Additional Comments

This is the only 8 port wired router available. that was why I bought it. I didn't think Dlink could screw up a simple product, but they did. This product is horrendous. You would be so dumb like me if you purchase it.

Product Broken

Strengths of the product

Not a single one

Weaknesses of the product

The firewall is broken iif you have the PPTP turned on. It proxies all inbound traffic so it appears to have come from the router. If you are running any services inside the firewall that treat differently based on whether it is from a local IP address or from an outside address, the service will see all inbound traffic as coming from the internal IP of the router, thus thinking it is a local device. DLINK claims they have a fix in the works that was months ago. MemExpress wont take it back.

Worst router experience ever had

Strengths of the product

Beautiful maketing material -- brochures, graphics and packaging...

Weaknesses of the product

Lots - WPS doesn't work. Unusually poor customer service in product knowledge and with language issues. Can define only up to 10 static IPs within a network - if you have lots of devices, you are out of luck. Constantly cannot connect to websites unless the refresh button is pressed in the web browser. Very Poor GUI... There are lots more but don't have the time to list them all...

Additional Comments

I gave this a 1 star rating only because there is no Zero star to select! Left VERY bad taste in my mouth with this products - everyone in our small office HATE this product!
