Strengths of the product
Overall a solid product, it has it's quirks like all products, but it does a good job in a small business environment - set up three of these so far, and all is good.
Weaknesses of the product
At times difficult to locate options in the management interface.

Like any product with firmware, always a good idea to upgrade to the latest, stable, release of the firmware - remember, don't just confirm the product model when downloading the firmware, hardware revision is important, otherwise you could end up with a useless product.
Not good at all...

Strengths of the product
The system itself has alot of great points to it, the capability for VPN and Firewall's is fantastic,
Weaknesses of the product
Multiple backdoor accounts built into the firmware
Multiple injection exploits
Additional Comments
When I purchased this router and set it up I was quite happy. I locked it down and went on my merry way. One day I found that a number of my game accounts had been hacked (in 15 years of playing that has never happened). One of the hacked games even has secondary authentication to which I was blown away on how that could have happened. Then I did some research and found that the firmware had a backdoor account built in. The latest firmware now has two...

Strengths of the product
- Full featured network appliance
- Allows creation of VLANs on lan an wi-lan. You can create a guest wireless network which has no access to your internal company network.
- Speeds seem good
- WiFi signals are good
Weaknesses of the product
- Shipped with defunct firmware. VLAN creation did not work out of the box. Had to update the firmware before it worked properly.
- Logging functionality is dismal. If you are having problems with packets getting blocked, it is very difficult to find out why.
- Not all ALG's can be disabled (some are permanently on)
- FTP ALG is not implemented quite right. Works probably 95% of the time, but I have experienced problems with a few FTP servers (isolated to the DSR-250N. Works with CISCO ASA)
Additional Comments
- Good router for small business use
- Would probably not recommend for more technical uses.
