Huge improvement

Strengths of the product

Using the paste that comes with unit, over 20C cooler at 100% load than the stock heatsink/fan on FX-8350 CPU @4GHz. Fan is very quiet and runs <2000RPM under load, compared to stock fan @6300RPM that sounded like a small vacuum cleaner. Mounting was pretty straightforward. Comes with clips/bracket to attach a second fan (not included).

Weaknesses of the product

On AM3+ board (Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0) make sure you have low-profile RAM in the first memory slot if you plan on using the fan on that side.

Additional Comments

Great cooler for a good price.

The right choice for me

Strengths of the product

Fits all modern sockets, cools exceptionally well, dual fans optional. Replaceable fans, standard 120mm.

Weaknesses of the product

Loud, cheap sleeve bearing fan. At 1900 rpm you can really hear it. Almost didn't fit in my mid tower despite the enlarged cutout on my MB tray, Cooling tower clearance from case door is less than 3mm, seriously. Might run quieter with the fan pulling rather than pushing

Additional Comments

System is an old Phenom 9500 x4 95w TDP. Stock HSF idled at 35c and ran games at 53-59c. This idles at 23-24c and runs the same games at around 30-32c peak. fans at 100%. The salesman talked me off a closed loop WC and on to this at half the price. The right choice for sure, but it wouldn't work in a smaller case. While it supports a dual fan set up, you will see no benefit from it if you have a 120mm mounted at the case rear. In my case the rear case fan aligns nicely with this.

Strengths of the product

CPU Running 5 degrees cooler at idle, 14 degrees cooler under load. Easy to Install.

Weaknesses of the product

Very tall, so be sure that your case is big enough. I had to remove a fan that was mounted on a side wall of my case to install this cooler.

Additional Comments

I have no idea how good the thermal compound that came with the cooler is, as I used Arctic Silver 5 right from the get go. Honestly, you cannot argue with the bang for your buck with this cooler. I have an AMD FX-8120, which is known to be a chip that runs hot. I get ~27-30 degrees idle, and 48 degrees under 100% load. When compared to the AMD stock chip cooler that came with the chip (~35 degrees idle, ~62 degrees under load), there is a considerable difference.

Strengths of the product

Small Amazing Performance Compatible with most sockets Copper Heat Pipes

Weaknesses of the product

Confusing at first

Additional Comments

I only bought this one because the stock intel cooler sucked. My h100's pump died and I wanted something to cool my 2600k. I have my cpu running at 4.5ghz and the temps are all in the 70's. Great bang for buck. I had to remove my side panel fan in my antec 1200 v3 to fit it tho.

Great quality product

Strengths of the product

provides great cooling for it's cost, keeps my overclocked phenom II (1.52V) cool

Weaknesses of the product

the setup is rather frustrating, and it would have been nice if it could use dual fans better

Additional Comments

took me a few mins to get it into place properly, but it's well worth a few mins of frustration

Very Satisfied

Strengths of the product

Big, solid, and effictive

Weaknesses of the product

None really. I did find attaching the brace to the back of the motherboard a little finicky (on LGA775 Motherboard.)

Additional Comments

Prior to purchasing this cooling unit my CPU was always running hot. In the last few months especially the stock heatsink, and most likely the thermal compound began to fail. I would occassionally hit 70 degrees. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 is larger than I thought it would be, but it is very effictive. I ran my computer for several hours and the temperature didn't go above 31 degrees C. I am very satisfied. Great value for the money.

Strengths of the product

Great price for the performance! Small enough to fit with tall ram heat spreaders Quiet

Weaknesses of the product

None so far. I read the other comments and can't see where there were any issues with the instructions, maybe I'm just more mechanically inclined, seemed really simple to me. Then again, maybe they updated the instructions in the box.

Additional Comments

Running a Intel i7 3770K processor overclocked to 4.2Ghz used to mean CPU core temperatures in the 90C range while encoding h.264 video content. With this cooler the temps never exceed 75C while performing the same tasks. Great cooler, great bang for the buck!

Strengths of the product

Quiet, effective, great quality

Weaknesses of the product

Instructions were HORRIBLE but that shouldn't reflect on the product's performance.

Additional Comments

I had a few problems figuring out how to get the screws to match a 775 socket, but that was it. By the way, push them down and slide side to side to move them. I'm only using it on an old E8400 set up as a HTPC so it's not dealing with a lot of load... but even when I push the CPU it still keeps the temps maybe 10C above ambiant. If I need another air cooler, it'll be this one.

Strengths of the product

-Very good cooling. -Nice Design and Layout. -Allows for Push Pull Configuration. -Price. -Strong Support Bracket.

Weaknesses of the product

Setup was a minor pain in the but, and the instructions were worse than ikea's, but it all makes sense enough to figure most of it out by yourself.

Additional Comments

If you're looking for a good cooler that matches and sometimes exceeds $100.00 CAD equivalents, this is where you need to invest your money. 4.5GHz OC (4.7GHz Turbo) on an Intel Core i5 2500K, and max temps in Battlefield 3 are 65*C tops. (Coupled it with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste)
