Strengths:
I picked this up to go into a Legion T5 pre-build (26iab7/3060 12gb/i5-12400/550w psu) and I couldn't be happier even thought the 4070 calls for a 650w psu. But I've had no issue, and it runs perfectly well.
Going from a 3060 12gb, which had Cyberpunk 2077 running on basically medium settings with no ray tracing and hovering between 57 ~ 70 FPS (FPS limited in-game to 70) @ 1080p with DLSS quality.
The 4070 is running Cyberpunk 2077 on max/ULTRA settings with ray tracing on ULTRA with all settings on except for path tracing (yet to try, but I hear it is demanding) and I get between 75-80 FPS (FPS limited in-game to 80) @ 1080p with DLSS quality.
And the card actually does closer to 90 FPS very well in many portions of the in-game benchmark test.
Additional Comments:
Overall. I'm very, very happy with it.
Feels like I am fairly future-proofed.
Though many would call the 12gb insufficient. But most NVIDIA cards in the 40-series have 12gb.
I'm not paying $1,200 ~ $2,400 for 16 or 24 GB of VRAM... seems like a cost / benefit overkill.
10/10 from me.
