Runs anything and everything ... for now.

Strengths:

Ridiculously powerful. 24GB VRAM opens up great possibilities for 3D work and AI model tinkering.

Weaknesses:

Coil whine is very noticeable.

Additional Comments:

It's expensive, but there is no other consumer option available with this kind of power. This particular model suffers from coil whine, so beware.

4090 amazing fps with ultra settings

Strengths:

Better and quiter cooling, than the 3090 this card replaced. Comes with power cable dongle to improve cable management. ASUS always has excellent packaging and this product does not dissapoint. Nice surprize inside box...small screwdriver/kickstand.

Weaknesses:

Large size requires you give some thought to your case and PCI-e real estate. Also need to ensure your power supply has adequate cables as this high performance card requires reliable power.

Additional Comments:

ASUS quality, amazing frame rates, improved cooling. This next generation GPU delivers high frame rate performance allowing high quality settings in games. VR plus three monitors and this card never flinches. Improved cooling means this card works hard but remains cool. Ray Tacing capability will blow your mind and consistently achieve over 100 fps with Ultra settings in Assetto Corsa Competizione. The improvement over the 3090 is noticable. Any worries I had that the improvement from the 3090 was not worth it evaporated when I realized that the improved frame rates had helped smooth out VR performance to improve motion sickness. But, and it is a big but (pardon the pun), this new generation of card is considerably larger than the 30 series. My old case needed to be updated anyway so I moved up to a bigger ATX case. I already had a 1000 watt power supply so I was not concerned about the power requirement. I always buy slightly larger power supplies to give myself options when good updgrade deals come along. So in summary, as long as you have the room and the power supply this card is definitely an improvement, even over a 3090. Gaming, video rendering, CAD...whatever I throw at this card it easily takes on and impresses. Full disclosure, I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback.

Designer

Strengths:

Great for running multiple design, 3D rendering, and video editing programs to run all at once. Smooth gaming. Minimal RGB lighting, runs cool and quiet.

Weaknesses:

The 12VHPWR connector is hard to connect and takes a lot of strength. Expensive and looks a bit chunky.

Additional Comments:

Okay first of all, I'm no computer expert, I'm upgrading from a good old build with a GTX 1080, I started having quite a bit of issues running some art and rendering programs in the last few years. So then I bought the RTX 4090 as part of a new workstation build. Paired with a i9-13900k and some good DDR5 ram, this is an amazing card that runs design programs, 3D rendering programs, and video editing programs like butter. I don't game as much, but with the couple of FPS games I've played, the quality has been amazing, everything is running smooth and cool @ 300 fps. I haven't tried to max out any game settings yet, but I imagine there shouldn't be any issues as this card handles rendering both still and animated frames so well for my work. The card is also very quiet most of the time, and I haven't heard any annoying coil whines from my experience. I love the minimal RGB design. It is looks sleek and subtle through the tinted tower glass side panel and hides how massive and chunky this card actually is. It blends perfectly well in my design studio. A couple of minor details, the 12vhpwr connector is extremely hard to plug in, and I had to use all of my force to make sure it is fully seated. It also has a bit of sag, but it comes with a sag support stick thing so that seems to help.
