Strengths:
Picked one of these up in Dec.22. Its been somewhat easy to setup, and the software included is really second to none. For someone not used to a NAS environment the synology software is very easy to use. I did use 4 HDD that were not on the compatibility list that synology points you to.
Weaknesses:
I was given 2 alerts warning me that i may have issues using non recommended HDD and SSD.
In the end the only issue was the warning. I did take advantage of the NVMe slots as well for caching.
Additional Comments:
Primary use is for media server and to backup family movies and pictures. Synology may not be the cheapest NAS out there but the ease of setup and their software makes up the difference. If any one is interested I found a youtuber "nascompares" out of the UK and he has a first time setup for synology nas. His presentation is easy to follow in 6 videos.
