The very best 4K OLED Gaming & Productivity Monitor Money Can Buy

Strengths:

- Super crisp text at any resolution - Amazing visuals for video and image - Excellent color gamut and brightness (I ignore why a previous review complains about HDR, probable it was a defective unit) - Extremely fast. Absolutely no lag, exactly like a CRT. So much so, when gaming, I feel like I'm cheating! - Overclockable - Tons of features (PIP, PBP, tons of ports, DP, USB Hub, etc.) - Sound. OMG, the sound is stunning. It has an embedded sound bar with Harman Kardon sound (2 x 10W plus a 15W Subwoofer). The sound is so good, that it can be used for parties! - Premium build quality. - Don't take too much depth in the desk (I use mine on an IKEA Micke wide desk and I'm just fine.

Weaknesses:

- Remote control is crap. Mine died suddenly. - The base isn't ergonomic at all. It misses tons of adjustment features like the DELL 4K one.

Additional Comments:

For those who don't know, this monitor uses EXACTLY the same panel used in the LG C2 and C3 models. So nobody can say that an L2 is better. Come on! LG doesn't have neither DP nor USB hub, nor the matte finish, nor a ton of true monitor/gaming monitor features. LG provides ASUS the panels! Regarding the matte coating (of course! it's a monitor!) nobody wants a glossy panel! The monitor is super fast, amazing everything. I use for both, gaming and productivity (programming). Have used ultrawides, and nothing, absilutely nothing, compares to the great 16:9 format. In addition, text is super crisp, it's easy on eyes (I use it around 10 hours a day and no headaches at all).

Plagued with HDR / Firmware Issues

Strengths:

-Only 42" 4k120hz 16:9 W-OLED monitor on the market at this time along the Phillips Evnia -Great SDR color gamut -Great for productivity, gaming (SP games, not for competitive FPS) -Optical digital audio output (S/PDIF)

Weaknesses:

-HDR issues since day 1, still hasn't been fixed by Asus engineers. Color gamut and tone mapping is wildly inaccurate even on the latest firmware (V040). It's been nearly a full year. -Poor port placement/design (leads to flickering issues via DP1.4) -Only tilts +/- 5deg, no other ergonomic adjustments are possible -Poor SDR peak brightness with uniform brightness -Matte coating (great from a bright office environment, bad for dimly lit rooms and vibrancy is poor compared to glossy) -Most expensive 4k OLED panel on the market ($2000 w/taxes originally)

Additional Comments:

Do not buy this monitor - the LG 42" C2/C3 is a much better panel used as a monitor and it's glossy. It's also half the price.
