An otherwise excellent monitor with a high pixel failure rate

Strengths:

Amazing price for the feature set (especially when on sale), strong and sturdy stand with a nice footprint, love the 130mm HAS, bright beautiful IPS colour after some fine tuning, and 144hz & FreeSync worked flawless in most games... with those that initially ran a bit choppy smoothing out after enabling VSYNC in game.

Weaknesses:

In my case I bought 2 of these monitors (3 months apart) and decided to move on to another brand after being unable to achieve having two in my possession with no dead or bright pixels across a total span of 6 months... during that time too many swaps occurred to keep the faith. I also had a weird graphical issue (almost like a blending/transposing of my desktop icons and desktop background) at 165hz+ where I wasn't sure if it was a monitor/cable issue or a niggle somewhere in my GNU/Linux config; completely resolving when I ran them at 144hz. Also, I found there was no optimal overdrive setting for 144hz... unlike 120 and 165+ (according to youtube reviews)... and no firmware update has been released since the monitor hit the market.

Additional Comments:

If you get your hands on one
a) without pixel issues and
b) with perfect image presentation over 144hz...
you really can't ask for a better flat IPS monitor. When it's on sale like it is now for over 40% off, it really comes across as a "no-brainer purchase"; however; unfortunately in my experience, I would have to instead file this monitor with it's great spec's under either "where's the catch" or "too good to be true".
