Never again Netgear

Strengths:

Good WiFi signal, solid gigabit speeds. able to assign more port forwards than I've seen before.

Weaknesses:

Failed after 5 months, I could connect to the 2.4 and two 5G streams but there was no connection to the internet. LAN connection had no problem with connecting to the internet. Tech support was horrible, took over three weeks for them to get it sorted, I spent over 9 hours on the phone with them acting as a technician. It cost me money as this was all during workday hours. They only offer a 30-day warranty wherein a device will get replaced with no questions, after that, you better be technically inclined and be willing to waste time doing resets after reset after reset and then firmware update, then downgrades and updates again, look for log files, try this, try that. It was a gong show.

Additional Comments:

End of the day it took over four weeks to get a replacement and it wasn't new, it was a refurb! I also had to spend money in order for them to ship it. By this time I had been without WiFi for over 4 weeks so I bit the bullet and chose next-day delivery, over $50 but they ended up shipping it economy. The incompetence and lack of will to help a customer is unmatched by any other tech company I have had to deal with. Electronics fail, it's a fact of life but when a company this large cant be bothered to provide decent service it is clear that they won't get another dime from me. I have a few more pieces of equipment with their name on it, bought within the last year, if they fail I will simply tell the techs that it won't power on, maybe that way I can get a replacement in a decent amount of time.
