The frames I'm getting during gaming are great and with a great screen that is capable of 240hz. The 3080 gpu worked great during all my gaming. The laptop weight is better and lighter then my last laptop that was too heavy. In general the laptop is very appalling as well.
Had to get use to the smaller keyboard and no g sync.
In general this laptop is great for gaming, great price and good for travel. I recommend it.

Well powered, runs smoothly and handles everything I run with ease.
The keyboard seems a bit crammed. I’ve also noticed a that keyboard and palm rest assembly seem to have a bit of a wave in some parts of them / on multiple units. Aesthetically speaking, that bothers me.
Overall, this unit has been great for my everyday needs. I haven’t yet to push it to its limits, but that will tested in the future I’m sure.

Well built, light weight, portable, good airflow, RGB fusion keys with individual colours, awesome specs.
Crammed keyboard keys, no HDR display, no G-Sync, no thunderbolt 3, Intel 10870 not 10875, no mechanical keyboard.
Prior to purchase it had been over 10 years since my last gaming PC, I've been mostly exclusive consoles since the Xbox 360 & PS3. In trying to decide between a decent desktop or a powerful laptop I opted to go the portable route and after a lot of research landed on the AORUS 15G YC because of the combination of specs (most notable the RTX 3080) and the price point. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and have zero regrets. I primarily game on a 32" Samsung G7 (with HDR & G-Sync) 1440p monitor using a 1.4 MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable with an external keyboard and mouse. The laptop perform very well at 1440p with similar performance to the built in 1080p. I wanted a bigger monitor for docked gaming and having G-Sync and HDR really makes games pop. It's a minor annoyance to change the in-game video settings between 1080p & 1440p when home vs. away but it only takes a few seconds. I'm torn regarding the laptop keyboard. I really like the individually lit keys and the built in number pad on a 15.6" laptop but feel the keyboard keys themselves are too soft and too close together. As a result I find typing takes some getting use to, especially the right side of the keyboard. I think I would have preferred no number pad and a mechanical keyboard. It's worth noting the key spacing hasn't been much of an issue for gaming, only typing. It's a bit disappointing the display isn't HDR but the x-rite pantone does a good job and looks sharp for mobile gaming. It's worth noting there is screen bleed on all four corners of the laptop display, this is a know issue on full black screens but not a problem or issue for gaming, well I haven't noticed any issues while gaming. I would have really like the inclusion of Thunderbolt 3 (vs. just the plain USB-C v3.2) and it's probably my only regret. The reason being is futureproofing the laptop by having the option to add an External GPU (aka eGPU) a few years down the road. Ultimately that disappointment didn't discourage me from getting this beast of a laptop that I'm sure will last for year to come. I also really wish Gigabyte would have used the Intel 10875 vs the 10870 CPU but I haven't had many CPU bound issues yet so maybe it won't pose as an issue. I'm not a huge fan of the Control Center & Azure AI stuff. I find myself just going in a tweaking the settings manually. I find the "auto" settings don't control the boost or fans very effectively and as a result the GPU tends to run hot. Maybe it's done to keep the fan noise down because they can get very loud, especially above 75% but I primarily game with headphones so it's a none issue most of the time, however good if I'm concerned with bothering others at a cafe or somewhere public. I love the sleek black look of the laptop with the illuminated AORUS logo, it's not over the top like some other laptops and I'm not interested to draw attention so I dig the stealth look. Considering the specs this unit comes with and the price it's a no brainer and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Nice screen, solid build and pleasant esthetic. 120hz easy on most titles at high settings.
No thunderbolt 3 or USB 3 @ 10gbs/20gbs. No gysnc
For a 3080 its good price for performance but some downsides are lack of high end connectivity - but then it would cost more.

Runs very smoothly on all of my games. Most of my games are AAA, and I haven't found a game where this laptop can't run a solid 120 fps at 1080p ultra. The trackpad also feels very smooth to touch. Also comes with a webcam that can be covered, which is really nice because I don't need to put tape on it to cover it up, which makes a mess on my laptop.
For some reason, the keyboard lock keys don't light up when I press them (Num, Caps and Scr). It's not a big problem but it can sometimes be annoying when I use the number pad and it doesn't work, or when I type and it is all caps. Also, the battery doesn't last as long when I play games. I guess this is not a big weakness, because I'm not supposed to game on battery, but the 99 Wh doesn't make as much of an impact as I expected.
Great performance on all my gaming needs. The 240hz screen is a big upgrade from my current 60hz desktop monitor. It does come with minor annoyances, but for a price of 2.5k, it comes with an RTX 3080, and so far, it's the cheapest I've seen. Overall, I would recommend this laptop for gamers that want to take their AAA games with them and play anywhere.

Rtx 3080 and core i7 10870 are just amazing. Very portable, the screen corners are very thin, which makes screen look even bigger, 240 hz monitor is amazing. That being said, the laptop is very light as well.
Rtx 3080 isn’t 16gb, but 8, which is still very good. During gaming fans can get very loud.
Very satisfied with the laptop. You get one of the best graphics card and cpu with 32 gb of ram and 1tb of very good samsung ssd just for 2500 canadian. I’m loving gaming experiences with it, and can take it with me for my studies as it is very light and portable.
