Strengths:
Very compact. Works as advertised in a computer; blue LED light is only lit when computer is reading/writing to micro SD card.
Weaknesses:
Blue LED light stays on 24/7 when drive is inserted into USB port on some vehicle manufacturer's onboard dash cam. This continuous milliamp drain will be hard on a 12 Volt car battery. I had to use a different adaptor for my car instead.
Additional Comments:
I bought this to use with my vehicle's onboard dash camera thinking that the LED light would not be lit when the vehicle was parked and only be lit when the vehicle was accessing the memory card such as while driving. However, in my car (a Tesla Model 3), it does not matter if the vehicle is being driven or is parked, the LED on this adaptor stays lit 24/7. I have had gasoline powered cars with wiring faults causing small, continuous milliamp drains that have resulted in a dead 12 volt battery, so I would not recommend this adaptor because of the potential to drain the Tesla's small 12 V battery that the car uses to run the interior electronics.

Strengths:
Barely sticks out further than a wireless receiver, so it's fine to leave parked in the laptop. Currently using it to run Linux from before committing to wiping my hard drive, and the performance is good enough on the 4 year old economy laptop I'm using it in.
You could just leave a card in there and use it as a tiny flash drive
Weaknesses:
USB 2 in the USB 3 age is a bit of a weakness, but it works fine
Additional Comments:
Worth it

Strengths:
As of today, I love this micro sd card reader. I like how it's got the blue led so I know it's working, and I've used 32gb to 128gb micro sd cards so far. Very easy to use, to remove the memory card, you press on the blue led and it pops the card out for you too swap.
Weaknesses:
The blue light is annoying at times, so I sometimes plug it in the back of the compter instead of the front usb port.
Additional Comments:
I have to say I've wasted money on many mircro sd card readers, and this one has not let me down yet. Overall I have been happy with this purchase so far, and I'll update my review if I get a failure so you will have a rough idea of the life of the reader.
