Great Mini Watercooling unit - 4/7/2009 11:51:01 AM

Strength:
-It's Quiet
-It's small
-all-in-one unit
-LCD to monitor the fan/pump speeds and temperature of the coolant
-adjustable speeds on unit
-easy to install
-brackets for Intel 1366/775 and AMD AM2+
Weakness:
-LCD is only visible thru a window of a side panel, and that's if you have one
-no additional fan bracket for push/pull on Rad
Summary:
a great product from a locally owned company
I was considering the Thermalright 120Extreme but the weight of the heatsink was a concern (nearly a 1Kg)
Adding an additional 120mm was a mod that was added, link below for pictures of unit installed in case and additional fan

Strength:
-compact and easy to install
-its kind of neat a neat for the price
Weakness:
-my q6600 runs +10 degrees hotter under load with the domino (compared to thermalright extreme 120)
-pump and fan are noisy even on low and really loud on high
Summary:
would work fine for a stock setup or a 45nm dual core. im going to put my thermalright extreme 120 back on and plan for homemade watercooling with danger den waterblock

I built a Intel Q9400 (2.66Ghz) based vista media center, it is happy to run all day at 3.8Ghz and the whole chassis is cooler and whisper quiet since Domino takes the heat directly outside the case. It takes less power than the fans it replaces and the CPU and other components also draw less power when they are cool. Five minutes to install... nice diagnostics included.
Weakness:
Had to buy a full sized case (one with a 120mm fan) to fit. The Apevia worked well, solid, fair price and has a side window.
Summary:
Cars all have liquid cooling... why wouldn't computers in the future?

Quiet

Not expandable but who cares!
Summary:
I am loving this little beauty, temps are lower than my Ultra 120 extreme by ~5C at load and it looks great in my case. Love the LCD and the controller. Go Canada.

Strength:
For only a few bucks more then a good air cooler it does the job alot better
-Dropped my Q6600 (at 3.6ghz) from 60 idle on stock cooling (i didnt even load test it for fear of how high the temps would get) to around 38 degrees at idle and 50 degrees under full load
-Already sealed off, dont have to worry about leaks
-Dosent void any warrenty as most water cooling systems do
Weakness:
-Bit of a pain to install because i had to pull the motherboard out to put the backplate on, i have the antec 900 case and when i went to put the side pannel back on the fan bracket was in the way and had to remove it to get the case to close off
-The fan pulls air in the back of the case and pumps that nicely warmed up air into the case so you need to have some good ventelation or else your gunna heat up the rest of your system
-You need to have a window on your case to see whats going on
Summary:
Great cooling unit for a CPU, cant really expand on it but for what your paying its worth it

Strength:
- Drops temps
- Price
- Simple to install
- Closed System (no leaks or maintenance)
- Easy to modify new hoses to add on a video card to the system
- Exhausts out the back of case
Weakness:
- Noisy on highest setting
- Need a window to see temp of the liquid
- Need to open case to change speed
Summary:
If you plan on overclocking your CPU, then this is a great cooling system. Overkill if you are running stock speeds. Anyone who says this is a tough system to install probably shouldn't be messing with their CPU anyways. Running a Phenom II 940 @ 3.9Ghz (idle : 31C, load : 51C).

Affordability
Ease of Installation
Versitility
Weakness:
Cheap Manufacture
Low-Grade Components
Failure is Imminent
Summary:
About 5 hours into my rig running - i hear the Domino making funny beeps and the pump is getting loud. Opening the side of my brand new cosmos S case, i see coolant everywhere. On the video card, on the mobo, in areas it ought not be.
Rule of thumb - Keep your reservoir OUTSIDE of your PC CASE.
I spent 89.99 on this thing and almost turf'd 3,000 worth of brand new hardware. Do yourself a favor and spend an extra 100 dollars for a true cooling solution.

Strength:
Cheap
Weakness:
Noisy
Leaks - Does not last
no remote to control settings. have to open case to get to swtich.
Unless you have a windowed case, you can't see anything.
Summary:
After installing it, it worked fine, but not better than other air coolers. On low setting it was loud, and on high it was unbearable. On medium it was acceptable but performance was mediocre. Pulled out and replaced with zalman cooler from memoryexpress for better performance and quieter. 1 month in storage and found coolant all over. It was not placed with any strain on the hoses in storage. Agree with other reviewer, do a search for dominator leak and you will find lots of info.

Strength:
Reasonably Priced
Easy to install
Weakness:
Loud on low setting
Very loud on high setting
Poor reliability
Summary:
I had this cooler for 6 months before the pump stopped working and almost cooked my E8400. When it was working it didn't cool any better than my Zalman 8700NT and was much noisier. If you want effective water cooling stay away from these pre-sealed kits.
