Summary:: I have an older but perfectly functional Microsoft keyboard with the PS2 type connector. It's an ergonomic keyboard so I had hoped it would work, but after plugging in this adapter, the USB does not even see the keyboard. Unfortunately the computer at work doesn't have a PS2 connector for my keyboard. It's probably less expensive for me to buy a new USB keyboard than to try that other upgraded USB adapter.
