always reliable for me

Strengths:

I've had good success with LG brand CD/DVD writers. They seem to work well with Verbatim DVD-R media, dual-layer DVD+R, etc. Other brands haven't been as good.

Weaknesses:

Lifetime of the drives is about 50 to 100 discs burned or a couple years.

Additional Comments:

Yes, some people still burn DVDs, because once written, they can't be changed, only physically damaged. Good to know that most of your important files are on media that ransomware can't touch!

Omg a cd/dvd drive

Strengths:

Its for the use of antiquated technology, but it works

Weaknesses:

its not a usb stick

Additional Comments:

If you still have buckets of rust as hard drives, and require floppy, sorry i mean cd/dvd's than this is the right drive for you. I have purchased 3 of these wonderful things in the last little bit and all of them surprisingly work, no issues!
