Haven't tried it with DVD's or nero but for writing BD-DL this thing is fantastic. Replaced my 8 year old LG drive that was very picky about media but this one is writing 6x onto media my old drive couldn't do at 1x. Discs read on other devices for me.

Will not create DVD's from images using Nero
Additional Comments:
I tried really hard to love this drive but after hours of experimentation, I successfully created a whole set of coasters from DVD blanks, whereas my older ASUS DVD burner keeps on working like a champ. I'm using the full version od Nero 2016 with both drives. Nero doesn't complain but the discs will not play in any device I put them into.
