Strengths:
It is 1 to 3 connection. If that is what you need. There it is!
Weaknesses:
I have been using this for more than a month now. Found nothing.
Additional Comments:
I am using this on Redeon HD7870. I think MST is not cheap for what it does. Therefore, if you are not sure if your graphic card support multi-monitor through MST confirm it with manufacturer. That was what I did first.
The one I got actually had problem initially. Causing monitor flickering a couple times, if I use my PC for a few hour.
I contacted Startech and they told me what I had was older version and discontinued in production. I got new version replacement, free of charge. No issue so far.

Strengths:
allows 3 screens to be hooked (works on screens with and without dp (must have seperate adapters for different screens))
plug and play - no drivers required
Weaknesses:
adapter cable is short and makes it difficult to hide. Im using it with my surface pro and it doesn't sit nicely on the desk unless my surface lid is shut.
Additional Comments:
Not sure what the earlier review mentioned about it cloning. That only happens when the video card on the computer doesn't support DP1.2..
Been using this with my Surface Pro 3 Dock for a few months now and it work fine. no issues with the adapter

Strengths:
Allows connection of 3 monitors through a single DisplayPort connection
Weaknesses:
Must use adaptors if your monitors are not DisplayPort
No HDMI model
Allows Extended Desktop but not full spanning (IE 1 x 5760x1080 instead of 3 x 1920x1080)
Additional Comments:
Overall, it does what it says it does and it worked out of the box with Windows 7. Shame the DisplayPort > HDMI adaptors weren't cheaper

Strengths:
None
Weaknesses:
Only Clones 1 Display to 3 Monitors. Windows only recognizes the 3 Connected Monitors as a single Monitor. Manual clearly shows that it should show up as 3 individual displays if you have 3 connected to the hub.
Display appears as VM2300 DEMO in Windows. Not sure if Calgary NW happen to get a DEMO unit they shouldn't have or what There are no drivers for this product, and it is supposed to work out of the box.
Had to return it -- didn't do what it said
Additional Comments:
Does not work as advertised.
