- Strengths:
- Much increased speed compared to stock HD (160 GB 5400 RPM)
Good Storage Capacity
- Weaknesses:
- Quite Expensive!
Not as fast as the manufacturers make it out to be (3 times as quick as a regular HD)
- Summary:
- This HDD runs much quicker than the stock 160 GB that came with my 2008 alum macbook, and gives me a much increased capacity as well. It's not quite SSD fast, but this is understandable as there is only 8 GB of flash storage. I just wish it was more reasonably priced as you can get a decent mid-range notebook brand new for around 3 times the price of the hard drive alone. All in all, in the 1 week I have used the drive, I am impressed. 4 Stars due to the price!

- Strengths:
- Much faster boot and program load time than with stock 500GB drive. Faster to suspend virtual machine in VM-Ware. Like getting a new laptop. No problems cloning with Carbon Copy Cloner.
- Weaknesses:
- None noted.
- Summary:
- An excellent and cheap upgrade.
Awesome upgrade/replacement drive!

- Strengths:
- SATA 6 gbps connector makes my MBP fly. Time Machine back-ups are faster to start & restore.
| F.A.S.T actually works great with MacBook Pro. Start-ups and app launches are sped up considerably more.
| 750Gb that can actually be used by OS X Lion - was expecting a drop in formatting - nope!
| This drive will allow you (depending on what your job is) to leave the external drives at home/office.
| No decrease in battery life from a 5400rpm to a 7200rpm drive.
- Weaknesses:
- NOT compatible with Bootcamp due to constantly corrupting the Mac OS X partition after booting into Windows 7 Pro.
Pricey - but due to global shortage.
- Summary:
- Great drive for the money if you need a replacement for any laptop with a SATA 3.0 connector. Forget SSDs for now until they drop in price around $0.50/gb.
