- Strengths:
- This motherboard is all around amazing. I got it about a month or two ago with a 2600k on a bundle special.
The main reason why I got it is because of the Intel SRT.
USB 3
Sata 6gb/s (total of 4 ports 2 marvell 2 intel)
Room for large cpu coolers or high profile ram
Easy overclock settings for an OC noob.
- Weaknesses:
- It seems to have triple boot problem where it shows the Asus logo 3 time. Its really annoying and I don't think there is a fix for it. I disabled the Marvell Sata controllers for a faster boot.
- Summary:
- All around good board I'm happy i bought it. They need to fix the tripple boot problem though.

- Strengths:
- SATA support is comprehensive
Three PCI-E slots
External USB3.0 socket & brackets (Lots of USB)
Handy bluetooth adapter (I'll never use)
Onboard video (as a backup)
Functional overclock and power savings
Strange shaped chipset heat dissipators can handle the heat - stays cool.
Room for plenty of RAM.
- Weaknesses:
- Only one Ethernet connection (I prefer two)
Only two 8X PCI-E16X usage (third is only 1X speed unless you disable most on-board features)
Onboard video is horrible. Can't game and lots of horizontal shearing with multimedia.
No MFM floppy controller
- Summary:
- I would search for a board that supports more PCI-E channels in bandwidth. Paying more for the onboard video is not worth the dollars as this video chipset is very poor at best.
I used a addon 3ware SATA controller RAID card as the features on onboard RAID aren't up to par.
I used a Noctura CPU heat sink as stock cooler for 2600K CPU wasn't enough.
Wish I stayed with a AMD 8 core rig, would have saved some money.
Great board, overclocks well.

- Strengths:
- This board has a great GUI BIOS. It has a simple mode for people who don't know what to do, and an advanced mode with all the usual features and more.
HDMI,VGA,DVI,USB 3.0,Blutooth
Excellent built-in RAID (easy to set up with no windows driver required), One Button Overclocking
Great for CrossfireX (using with 2 x HD6970). Easy to use boot menu for quick Flash Drive boots.
Everything worked first try.
Plenty more. Great board so far.
- Weaknesses:
- Haven't found anything that doesn't work yet.
Not Gen 3.
- Summary:
- I'm using this board with some Sniper 1600 DRAM and a 3.3GHz i5 2500k. In advanced mode you can set it to Auto Tune. Doing this will automatically test the board and set the "turbo" clock and voltages. It set my system to 4.3GHz, but I tweaked it up to 4.7GHz before backing it down to 4.5GHz using a Corsair H100 cooler. That's a stable cool 1.2GHz overclock. I have the RAID setup on the SATA 6.0Gb/s ports using two SSDs in a RAID config. Everything just works....
Good performance, but beware.

- Strengths:
- Runs reliably, good overclocking, nice inclusion of six SATA cables. Easy installation.
- Weaknesses:
- First board I took home was DOA. No bent pins. With research, it is a VERY common problem with Asus' entire P8Z68 lineup. Make sure you let Memory Express mount the CPU and certify it works, it will save you time.
- Summary:
- Good buy, good performance, but beware DOA boards.
